A snake. A lion. A return.

In a time when magic is feared, Lady Oriabel Dominax has no choice but to conceal her healing powers while she cares for her father’s struggling estate. One touch of the Witch’s Tree shows her visions of witches hung and burned at the very hands of the people for whom she cares, the people who love her. But with the arrival of a new lord, a man hiding secrets of his own, falling in love might be one wrong move too many.

Incarcerated for an unspeakable crime, fearless warrior Lady Ottilde Dominax is plagued by mysterious dreams of her sister’s death. When a hooded figure offers her the chance of escape, although untrusting, she does not hesitate. Racing across nations to reach Oriabel, her journey is cut short by an encounter with a wedowyn, a formidable beast which she has no chance to overpower alone. Though it is not death that greets her, but something far worse.

Blackmail, betrayal, and murder are only the beginning as a darker magic is awakened. And someone has plans for the Dominax twins, plans more terrifying than anything they could ever imagine.

Abandoned, betrayed, and wanted for murder, Lady Oriabel Dominax is a witch on the run. The deadly magic now awakened inside her is hungry, and it is all Oriabel can do to control it. Since rescuing her sister from certain death, Lady Ottilde Dominax’s only goal is to keep Oriabel safe and alive. Not an easy task when both the enemy and their so-called allies are hunting them. Placing all her trust in the very man who held her prisoner, Ottilde must open her heart and mind to a future she could never have predicted, a future guided only by love and survival.

Life, death, and tragedy lie ahead as the Dominax twins set out on a perilous journey to safety. But knowing they are mere pawns in someone else’s game means fighting for family is all they have left.

Author Bio:

Being a stay-at-home mom is probably the hardest job Robin’s ever had (and that’s after working at places like Goodwill, MCL Cafeteria, and Captain D’s). Her house is never clean! No matter how many dishes she does or toys she picks up, her two little ones come right behind her and make a whole new mess. Anyway, this is the first time she hasn’t had some sort of job outside the home since she was fifteen. Kinda scary!

Now that her kids have both started all-day school, she can fling herself into the stories that constantly swirl inside her head. One of the main reasons she writes is to read books that she wishes other people were writing. She lives in Oklahoma with her husband, two small sons, two naughty canines, and a mouse-killing cat.

Bombastic #BookBlitz: Veritas by Quinn Coleridge

Veritas
Quinn Coleridge
Publication date: July 13th 2017
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, Historical

The ghosts are angry, thinking I’ve neglected them.

Do not forget us, they call out from the grave.

I won’t, I promise them. Upon my life, I won’t.

Being a demigoddess in 1892 Stonehenge, Colorado isn’t all one might suppose, especially when the dead are involved. Yet as Veritas of the Rocky Mountain sovereignty, it is Hester Grayson’s calling to help restless spirits cross over by bringing their killers to justice. Blind and pale as an albino, she dwells on the fringes of the nouveau riche, working with her telepathic beau Tom Craddock to catch the guilty.

When a young woman is brutally murdered, Hester and Tom are determined to solve the case as they have every other. But this one demands more. The killer wears many faces and wields greater magic than even Hester possesses. All sleuthing stops, however, when Tom is gravely wounded, and Hester is cast out of her parent’s mansion into the brutal squalor of an asylum.

At the mercy of an insane doctor, surrounded by agitated ghosts, Hester fights to maintain her own sanity by planning her escape and the downfall of her enemies. Can she achieve her goal and expose the madman who sent her to hell? Or will he continue his bloody reign in Stonehenge?

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

Cordelia once read Thomas More’s Utopia to me and I remember marveling that gold meant nothing to the people within the book, so little that they made chamber pots out of it. Stonehenge is the absolute opposite of Utopia. It has a definite aristocracy, and it doesn’t come from blue blood. It’s entirely based on money. And wealth is just as important to Tom as it is to my father. The ironic thing is that Father was just like him once—before the gold rush.

I hold Tom close, wishing I’d never come to town. Things are just things. They don’t matter.

Because you’ve always had them, love.

Through telepathy, Tom allows me a glimpse of what’s in his heart. Sorrow, aggravation, fear. These feelings are soon replaced by a different passion, physical rather than mental. But as I sink into his kiss, Tom disappears from my arms.

Bodies roll across the cobblestones, fists strike muscle and debris crashes about in the alley. I switch down my hearing before my head explodes.

“You need lessons on how to treat a lady,” Dr. Noah Kelly mutters.

Tom laughs bitterly. “I was treating her quite well until you arrived.”

The doctor grunts, as though he’s been tackled and driven into the wall. He takes a good pounding before knocking Tom off his feet. The violence goes on for some time. They are gasping for air but still swinging.

No more, Tom. Please.

Tell that to your boyfriend—he fights dirty.

“I won’t allow Hester to be taken advantage of,” Kelly sputters, as though his throat is being squeezed.

“I’ll kill anyone who tries it,” Tom replies with a snarl.

After hitting the cobblestones, Kelly springs to his feet, the sound fluid as a cat. More punching follows. The moment there is a lull, I move between them and put a hand on Tom’s chest.

Kelly steps back, and I sense him studying us. “You’re friends with this man, Hester?” he asks, voice cool.

Nodding, I move closer to Tom, feel his arm slide round my shoulders. The doctor is quiet for a moment and then brushes off his coat. “A secret affair, is it? Well, to each his own, I suppose.”

Tom’s Scottish temper flares. “Careful, Doctor,” he says. “Show Miss Grayson the proper respect.”

Kelly moves past me. “Oh, I respect Hester. It’s you I don’t think much of. If she were mine, there’d be no sneaking around.”

Tom curses through his teeth. “Son of a—”

I grab his arm and open our telepathic link. Let it pass. He thinks he’s defending me.

The doctor walks to the mouth of the alley and waits for Tom and me to follow. “I am Miss Grayson’s escort at present,” he says. “And when I take a lady out, I damn well see her home.”

The body heat from the men at my side is stifling, and I want this encounter to end without further incident. I’ll go with him, Tom. It’s only a short ride, after all, and my mother will ask questions otherwise.

Fine.

Anger pulses from Tom as he hands me what remains of my spectacles and strides away. The frames are bent, the lenses broken. It’s the topper to a hell of a day. As I despair over the spectacles, Kelly fetches my cloak from the hotel and leads me to the buggy, stiffly polite. Seems he’s angry, too.

Kelly whistles for a while as the horse trots along before turning to me, his knee grazing mine. “I’ve known my share of deceptive females, but your skills are of the first water. The ice-angel, butter-won’t-melt-in-my-mouth act fooled even me.”

Reaching into my pocket, I turn away from him and hold the lucky pebbles inside, thankful for the breeze blowing against my flushed face. We finally arrive at The Revels and Kelly walks me to the front door. I curtsy because it’s expected and thank him for taking me to tea.

“You’re quite welcome, but it seems alleyways are more to your liking. Had I but known you were in the mood for a tussle, Hester, I would have gladly obliged.”

Treacherous cad! All that talk about friendship and loneliness. And to think I defended him to Tom.

I release the pebbles in my pocket as Kelly raps on the door, alerting the butler that I’m waiting to be let in. “At your service,” the doctor murmurs.

I don’t wait for the butler and push the door open myself. As I stomp into the house, I hear Kelly call my name and turn around.

“The choking man survived, in case you were wondering. And I’ll see you in my office tomorrow. Your mother and I have made arrangements for your education.”

He walks toward his buggy, and I pull back the door so I can slam it. I’ll never go anyplace with him again, regardless of what he and Mama say.

But Kelly gets in a final jab before I slam the door. “Be there at one, Hester, and bring Miss Collins along to chaperone. I’d hate for your reputation to suffer.”

Blurb

I’m that guy.

Camilla Landry rustles against me, the silky fabric of her overpriced lingerie slipping along my bruised rib. The porcelain perfection of her skin is even more innocent against the colorful ink dotting my own. It’s demure meets damage, pampered meets punctured.

So, yeah, it’s obvious I’m that guy. Dominic Hughes. Her attempt at rebellion. Her bid to see what the other side of the tracks feel like. I’m okay with being used because, from where I’m sitting, the other side of the tracks have never looked so good.

“If I didn’t have to get up so damn early in the morning and head up north for a job, I’d be on my way over,” he promises.
“What would you do when you got here?”
It’s a loaded question, one that will only make it harder that he’s not here tonight. Not that he would be here all night anyway. He doesn’t sleep here. He won’t. He’ll come over, but I always wake up in my bed alone.
“I’d hope you’d be wearing that yellow silk robe that isn’t long enough to cover your ass,” he says, a grit to his voice that’s as smooth as it is rough. It reminds me of his hands—soft enough to caress, yet coarse enough to cause my body to fire on all cylinders. “I’d find you standing in the kitchen, watching porn on your phone.”
“No, you wouldn’t!” I giggle. “I don’t watch porn on my phone.”
“This is my little fantasy,” he teases. “Don’t interrupt.”
“Fine. Continue on,” I say, propping one leg up on a neighboring chair.
“I’d walk in behind you and almost lose it when I see you with your hand between your legs. Your head would fall back just a little as you moan like you do when you’re turned on. I’d wrap your hair, still wet from a shower, around my fist and tug your head back just a little more so I can bury my face in the crook of your neck.”
The whimper that passes my lips isn’t intentional, but I couldn’t deny it if I wanted to. The thought of his hands on my skin, his breath against my cheek, his cock rock hard and long against the small of my back, has me shifting in my seat.
Lifting the hem of my floral-print dress, I move aside the lace of my panties and feel the heat and wetness radiating from between my legs.
“I’d kiss you right behind the ear just so I could feel you shiver against me,” he breathes. “Smelling your vanilla perfume mixed with the scent of you all turned on would make me so fucking hard.”
“And me so wet,” I whisper.
“I lay my hand over yours,” he continues, “my fingers holding yours in place. You breathe in, the top of your robe falling open so I can see those big, round titties swollen for me, wanting my mouth on them.”
“God, Dom,” I groan, spreading my legs a little wider. Flicking at my engorged clit, the sensation makes me gush a breath of pure need.
“What are you doing right now?” he whispers.
“Ah,” is my response as I roll the nub with my thumb, my eyes squeezed closed imagining it is Dominic’s hand on me and not mine.
“Are you touching yourself, Camilla?”
“Yes.”
“Fuck,” he hisses. “Do you wish it were me?”
“Yes.”
“I’d shove your robe up, bend you over the table, and bury myself inside you so deep you almost can’t take it. Would you like that?”
“Yes,” I almost moan. My back is now arched, my breathing heavy and panting, as I replay two days ago when his words tonight were almost a play-for-play.
“I love the way you squeeze around me. Your little pussy almost milks my cock, begs for it. Do you know that?”
My eyelids squeeze together harder, almost painfully hard, as I touch myself in just the right way. The burn begins low in my stomach, the rumble getting louder with each and every movement of my hand.
The lace of my panties causes friction against the back of my palm, just another bit of sensation that sends me on a spiral higher and higher.
“Think of how good it feels when I hit that spot in the back of your pussy,” he coaxes. “The way you let loose. How your legs shake as you flood my cock with so much fucking juice that it almost shoves me out of you.”
“Dom,” I utter through clenched teeth as the tremors of my orgasm start to hit me full-on.
“You coming, baby? You coming thinking of me buried inside you?”
Yessssss.”
My body hums at the imagery he’s painted for me, the thought of him doing all of those things sending me on a high that could only be topped if it were him doing them.
Sucking in a breath, I hear him follow suit, as I whimper at the aftershocks of my climax. My legs relax, the riot in my stomach eases, as I let my head fall back with a contented, satisfied sigh.

10 Things I Wish I Knew About Being an Author I Didn’t Know Before

  • You don’t have to wait for that perfect story idea to come to you. If you do, you might be waiting forever. Anything can be turned into a story if you allow your imagination to run loose. Every adult on the planet probably has at least ten good stories within them.
  • Don’t think that you’re the master of your story. Your story will take on a life of its own and you might not be able to control it or even fully comprehend it until much later. Much of what you discover about your story will come from reader feedback.
  • You might uncover something about yourself in your story that you weren’t even aware of. Again, reader feedback is often the tool for this self-discovery. Writing is cathartic but its therapeutic qualities are not always immediately apparent.
  • Even though you write for the love of your craft, unless you plan on storing your work in your laptop forever you must also view it as a business. An author needs to wear two hats—creator and manager. If you’re uncomfortable selling yourself, you’re in the wrong business.
  • The best friends you will have as an author are fellow authors with whom you can commiserate. They will prop you up when you need it and, in turn, you will do the same for them. Family and friends are crucial but only a fellow author will understand your highs and lows. I can’t overstate how important my author friends are to me.
  • You will come to think of your stories as your children. You must resist the urge to be overly protective and force yourself to view them with an objective eye.
  • Nothing will serve you quite as well as a thick skin. No matter who you are, not everyone is going to love what you’ve written and you either have to have the ability to internalize that truth or else be able to shut out all external noise.
  • Write what makes you excited. If you try to jump on a trend it will be over by the time your story is ready to be marketed to agents. If you think you know what agents or publishers want—you don’t. Agents are just people. If they sense your enthusiasm for what you’ve written, they’ll be more inclined to share in it.
  • Don’t be afraid to read as much as possible out of fear you might inadvertently use someone else’s idea. No two stories are the same even if they cover the exact same ground. The beauty of storytelling is that every story is imprinted with the author’s own narrative DNA. There are probably only five to ten original stories in the world and every novel is just a retelling of one of those.
  • I heard Ed Sheeran say this in an interview and I agree. If you’re hungry to succeed in your field and you’re willing to work as hard as you can to improve your craft, you will succeed if you don’t have a Plan B. If you have a Plan B you’re more likely to give up prematurely. Obviously, you need to have money to eat and pay the rent, but don’t ever give up on the part of your life that inspires you to reach for the stars.

Clever #CoverReveal: Pieces Of Me by Shiloh Walker

Title: Pieces of Me
Author: Shiloh Walker
Re-Release Date: July 30th 2017
Genre:
Contemporary Romance

Obsession can be deadly…
Nobody knows that better than Shadow Harper. It seemed like a dream
come true when a rich, suave older man noticed her during her second year of
college. Stefan Stockman seemed to love her obsessively. He came into her life
and swept her off her feet, seduced her, married her…and then slowly,
eventually, that dream come true became a living nightmare.
Now, three years after she finally escaped him, she’s trying to put her
life back together. Haunted by memories, struggling with post-traumatic stress,
she spends most of her time locked away in her home on Pawley’s Island, a small
town on the South Carolina coast. Her rare moments of joy come from her trips
to the nearby beach.
She compulsively checks the locks on her doors, makes sure she has her
cell phones—five of them—and if she misses something on her schedule, it throws
her into a panic.
When she accidentally leaves a sketchbook on the beach, an anxiety
attack seems imminent. Her art has become her salvation, her sanity, and losing
even one sketch is like losing a piece of her soul. When she returns to hunt
for the sketchbook, already fearing it’s gone for good, she’s surprised to find
it still sitting there, saved by a sexy fellow beach lover—the mysterious
Dillian Jenkins.
He’s brash, bold, brutally handsome…and gentle. He’s the exact opposite
of the man who’d tormented her for years, and Shadow finds herself slowly,
almost reluctantly, falling for him. Even obsessing over him.
When her ex-husband once again intrudes on the happiness she’s finally
discovering, Shadow turns to Dillian. But will she find shelter there…or
another betrayal?

Rapturous #Release #Blitz: Love War by Cary Hart

Title: Love War (Battlefield of Love
book 1)
Author: Cary Hart
Release Date: July 20th,
2017
Cover
Designer:

Passion Creations by Mary Ruth
Genre: Romance Contemporary/Romantic Suspense

What happens when happily ever after isn’t happy? When everything you thought you knew changes?

Obligation… Marriage

Betrayal… Freedom

Until him. Until her.

Second chances…

Until them.

Deceit… Doubt.
The past may have won the battles, but can Love win the War?

 PROLOGUE EXCERPT

What happens when happily ever after isn’t so happy? When all your dreams and plans dissolve into the chaos of everyday life, and are swallowed up by obligations…

Absolutely nothing.

Hollow.

Empty.

Unhappy.

I’m void of all emotions. Struggling to breathe, walking through life as if a cinder block is tied to my chest. I’m falling deeper into the unknown.

Drowning.

Dying.

I’m tired. This isn’t what life should be all about. It’s exhausting trying to fight my way to the top when all I seem to do is sink further down.

Is there something wrong with me?

Can he see it? Feel it?

I told myself we weren’t obligated to get married. We chose to become a family. Getting pregnant was a surprise, but we embraced our new reality and accepted our fate for what it had become.

Ignoring all the signs that pointed to the obvious.

Oblivious.

He was the perfect husband.

Was he?

He was there when we lost the baby. Took care of me in all the ways a husband should take care of his wife. Reassured me that it wasn’t our fault, that it wasn’t the right time and we would be blessed when it was. He could have left. He had an out, but he stayed.

He always stayed.

Something was off. We were never the same after that — or maybe we were never right to begin with.

Routine.

I did what any good wife would do. I supported him while he finished his degree and built his career. I put my education and dreams on hold for him. Volunteered at local charities, kept a clean house, had dinner on the table nightly and made sure I worked out daily.

He was there for me every step of the way when I finally got pregnant again six years ago, accompanying me to most of my appointments, making sure either my mom or his would fill in when work called.

He was a hands-on dad, relieving me of some of the late-night feedings even when he had to work the next day. I was lucky.

He was on top of things, never forgetting a special day and always making the moment perfect. I felt perfect…

Until I didn’t.

Believe it or not, writing was never a dream for Cary. Reading was something she never enjoyed growing up. Lavender Fields Teaser

An Excerpt from the Book

Take an inside look at Lavender Fields. Read this sizzling excerpt from the book.
When I read Caleb’s name on my mission note, my heart had taken control over my brain. I flew the fastest I ever had to the site where he was to meet his demise, not quite sure of what I was about to do. In the end I didn’t hesitate. I saw his bike as it careened around the curve, heading straight for a semi truck driving the wrong way. Before I even realized what I was doing, I plunged down in front of the truck and swept Caleb off his bike just as it fell and slid sideways under the giant tires.
“What did you do that for?” Caleb asked, surprised. I pointed to where his bike was nothing but a pile of mangled metal. “Fuck! You…. I…. Was I the soul you came to harvest? Am I dead?”
I laughed. A nervous chuckle as reality began to sink in. I had just saved the soul I came to take away. “You’re not dead. I saved you.”
Afraid of being spotted, I flew us into the first sheltered spot I could find and put him down gently.
“Are you supposed to do that?” His eyes were mesmerizing, and I found I couldn’t take mine off them. I nodded, incapable of uttering a sound. “I thought you were supposed to take my soul to—well, hopefully Heaven. Why did you save me?”
I should’ve just flown away and hoped for the best. Instead, I grabbed his T-shirt, pulled him closer to me, and kissed him. This had to be some kind of seraphic madness for which I was in no hurry to find the cure. Caleb didn’t fight me, raising his hands and threading his fingers through my curls while his tongue explored my mouth. Ambrosia. Pure, intoxicating ambrosia.
“This is madness.” His breath caressed my lips, and I had to refrain from crushing him between my craving body and the wall behind him. “Am I dreaming, Sky? Hallucinating, maybe? You’re an angel. A real, honest-to-God angel.”
In the back of my mind there was a foggy idea of his earlier statement about having met another angel before, but the slow burning in my gut quickly convinced my brain to ignore it and focus on the task at hand. My hands had become a force to be reckoned with, moving of their own accord beneath his T-shirt, eager to explore every detail of his body.
It was indeed madness. I had just saved my charge. There would be hell to pay.
With that last thought I came to an abrupt realization. I stopped my hands and detached my lips from his, breathless and suddenly anxious. I was in so much trouble. “As much as it pains me to say and do this, I have to go.” I wanted to stay so badly. “I have to tell Gabriel what just happened. He’s not going to be happy.”
My eyes locked with his and I was flying over those sweet scented fields again. My lips stretched into an uncontrollable smile.
“I don’t know why you did it, but thank you for saving me,” he said, sunshine taking over his face. I may be the angel, but he shone as if enveloped in a halo. “When will I see you again?”
Could I stay and ignore the call of responsibility? I wanted to. God, did I want it. But I knew I couldn’t. Being an angel meant I wasn’t free to do as I pleased. My life was not my own, and if I stayed the Corps would find me one way or another. Easier to just go and face the music. At least Gabriel wouldn’t be able to accuse me of being a coward.
“Soon.” I hope. I touched my lips briefly to his and then, unfurling my wings, I took off, heading upwards toward the clouds and the wrath of the angels.

About Natalina Reis

Natalina Reis

Natalina wrote her first romance at the age of 13 in collaboration with her best friend. Since then she has ventured into other genres, but romance is first and foremost in almost everything she writes. She’s the author of We Will Always Have the Closet, Desert Jewel, Loved You Always, and Lavender Fields.
After earning a degree in tourism and foreign languages, she worked as a tourist guide in her native Portugal for a short time before moving to the United States. She lived in three continents and a few islands, and her knack for languages and linguistics led her to a master’s degree in education. She lives in Virginia where she’s taught English as a Second Language to elementary school children for more years than she cares to admit.
Natalina doesn’t believe you can have too many books or too much coffee. Art and dance make her happy and she is pretty sure she could survive on lobster and bananas alone. When she is not writing or stressing over lesson plans, she shares her life with her husband and two adult sons.

André

The Marines trained me to set my sights and wait for the shot. For eight years, I guarded my brothers and defended my country. Now I protect my clients. My personal security firm is the best in the business because I leave nothing to chance… until a dark-haired, hazel-eyed spitfire crosses my path.

She and her sexy-as-hell striptease were supposed to be a one-night distraction. But too late I noticed the branding on her back and my blood ran cold. This woman wasn’t a distraction—she was a death sentence.

Knowing who she was left me no choice. I took her on as my client. But running from her past wasn’t an option.

The Marines didn’t train me to retreat. They taught me to engage.

One shot. One kill.

Author Bio:

Sybil Bartel grew up in Northern California with her head in a book and her feet in the sand. She dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew her into the world of storytelling. She loves the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes her swoon.

Sybil now resides in Southern Florida and while she doesn’t get to read as much as she likes, she still buries her toes in the sand. If she isn’t writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in her backyard, you can find her spending time with her handsomely tattooed husband, her brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…

But Seriously?

Here are ten things you probably really want to know about Sybil.

She grew up a faculty brat. She can swear like a sailor. She loves men in uniform. She hates being told what to do. She can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks her out. Her favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—she can’t decide. She has a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on her for driving directions, ever. And she has a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell her husband.
