#NewRelease House of Payne: Max by Stacy Gail @ejbookpromos #giveaway

Title: House of Payne: Max
Series: House of Payne
Author: Stacy Gail
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Release Date: October 16, 2017

TRIGGER WARNING: This book contains flashbacks of violence and drug abuse, and the impact of these factors on family members. If you have issues with these elements, this book is not for you.

Chicago’s premiere tattoo studio, House Of Payne, is across the street from the Mad Cow diner, but it might as well be on another planet as far as waitress Paradise Simone is concerned. She’s a good girl from Waukegan with a past she’d rather forget, and a future that goes only as far as the next day. What does she know about superstars and paparazzi?

But Pari does know danger when she sees it, and tattooist Max Kulagin has it written all over him. A proper Waukegan girl should know to steer well clear, but she can’t resist Max when he leaves beautiful, intimate art sketched out on cheap diner napkins.

Beautiful, intimate art…of her.

Max knows ugliness. He was born in it. Raised in it. Had it shoved down his throat every goddamn day. So when he stumbles across true beauty, he worships it. There’s a deep sensuality in the waitress who likes to suck on her pen whenever he’s around, and he’s just the man to bring that beauty out in her. She might be a lady in the street, but one look at Pari tells him she’s going to be a freak in the bed.

And in the shower.

And while he’s driving with her head going to town in his lap.

The life Max leads might be in the spotlight, but it’s Pari who gets caught in the glare. When her past catches up to her, it’s her life that holds all the excitement, and not in a good way. But there’s no force on earth that can take Max’s beautiful Paradise away now that he’s finally found it.

93,000 Words
***This standalone, mildly erotic contemporary romance contains a woman with an oral fixation and a man who’s happy to encourage it. There are multiple sex scenes that include oral sex. No cheating, no love triangles, no cliffhangers. HEA guaranteed. Due to adult language and sexual content, this book is not intended for people under the age of eighteen***

A competitive figure skater from the age of eight, Stacy Gail wrote stories between events to pass the time. By fourteen, she told her parents she was either going to be a skating coach who was also a romance writer, or a romance writer who was also a skating pro. Now with a day job of playing on the ice with her students, and writing everything from PNR and cyberpunk to contemporary romance at night, both dreams have come true.

Summary from Goodreads:

Kitty Irish has heard all the rumors swirling around Daniel Phinney. Most of them involve a gun, a flask, and a temper. One chance encounter with the WWII veteran over a grisly find in the woods pulls the cover off the dark secrets of their small town, and Kitty is drawn into an unlikely partnership.

Excerpt:

The tang of old pennies hung in the air. Kitty was smart enough to know she hadn’t stumbled on some stash of long-buried loot. No self-respecting pirate would be caught dead in the middle of the Michigan woods.

That coppery smell was blood.

Maddie had the scent too. The golden retriever pressed forward, nose scuffling through the mulch. Her fluffy tail hung inactive. A wiggly rear end might divert too much energy from her nose.

Somewhere high above, a cloud ghosted over the sun, and the forest light grew dark green and cool. Kitty moved forward slowly. It would be just perfect to step into the middle of something completely nasty. Her shoes still looked mostly decent after a winter indoors. A big smear of muck across the toes would really round out her look.

Maddie suddenly growled, stopping dead. One paw hung suspended in the air and her body tensed.

“Maddie? What’s the problem?”

The retriever lowered her head to the ground, slowly pacing a circle. Kitty leaned over the spot that had thrown the dog off. Maybe it was a coyote. Maddie hated them.

A paw had indented the soft ground right where the aging dog had spooked. Kitty nodded—positive it was a coyote—and crouched down next to it to get a better look. Maddie circled around her, chest rumbling. Kitty knew a little about prints. Her dad had been pointing them out to her since she could walk. Deer and rabbit marks were everywhere, but this didn’t belong to one of the gentle guys. It had the four toes and pads of a predator, and it was big. Laying her hand over top of it, she could spread her fingers and barely cover it. Deep claw marks dug into the leaf mold ahead of the pads. Cats sheathed their claws when they walked; this was some sort of huge canine.

If this was a coyote, it was mutant. What sort of a thing made a print like that?

Kitty moved forward into the deep shadows under the trees. Something dead was in there. Flies buzzed and whirled under the trees. Maddie stayed where she was, guarding the print.

The carcass lay half-hidden under some ferns at the base of a broad oak. It was a deer, or what was left of one anyway. Its soft tan hide lay torn; its white stomach stained brown with dried blood. Great gashes ran the length of it, shoulder to haunches. Kitty’s stomach churned. This was about killing to kill; not one bite was missing. Sickened, she turned to leave, halting at the sight of the head. She had assumed it was at the end of the neck tucked away unseen under the bracken. She was wrong.

Completely detached, it lay under the next tree.

Whatever had done this was no dog.

Bombastic #BookBlitz: The Beautiful Dead by Jun Prince

The Beautiful Dead
Jun Prince
Publication date: September 22nd 2017
Genres: Fantasy, New Adult, Paranormal

Yubin knows she’s different than the other girls in the pop group SIITY. Yes, they all got sucked into the same machine, giving up schooling and signing ridiculously long contracts before anyone knew if they’d be successful, but that’s how pop stars are made in Korea. Yubin is supposed to be thankful for that, but she isn’t. She doesn’t even like the girls she performs with.

She’s more connected to her former schoolmate Jieun, even though all they ever do is text. Over the last two months, Jieun has become her confidant and best friend, connecting Yubin to the real world in a way she desperately needs. Now that SIITY is going to appear on the reality show The Incredible Race: Asia, Yubin will need that connection more than ever, which is why she’s devastated to discover Jieun has been dead five years and is actually haunting her.

If that weren’t enough, Yubin’s not the only SIITY member with issues. Rena’s father is emotionally abusive. Somi has a learning disability, and after a near death experience, Tae-eun becomes a nine-tailed fox woman. The only way they’ll survive the show, each other, and the supernatural currents buffeting them is to work together and win the hearts of their fans. Because if they don’t, they have nothing to go back to even if they survive what’s trying to kill them.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

Yubin looked at the gumiho. A moment of stunned silence settled between the two women like a moment somehow out of time and place untouched by the urgent emotions of the now. Yubin stood in the hall beside the bathroom, and unable to see Michi, Tae-eun crouched beside her bed. Time caught up.

Yubin shrieked.

“Aaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeee!!!” God, that woman has powerful lungs.

“Yubin!” Tae-eun yelled.

Yubin blinked and paused her noise upon recognizing her name in the twisted animal sounds spilling from Tae-eun’s throat. It gave Tae-eun the moment she needed to make the sign of the cross, direct her eyes toward the ceiling and say “Sorry…” in apology for abusing the name of The Lord.

“Aaaaaiiiiiiiieeeeeee!!!!!!!!!” Yubin shrieked again.

The sound made Tae-eun’s head rattle. It struck her between the eyes as if the other woman tried in earnest to give Tae-eun the world’s first sonic lobotomy. If the first call had been a shriek of surprise, the tail end of the latter was most certainly a battle cry. Tae-eun’s unnie darted to the minibar, and hurled a heavy glass at Tae-eun’s skull. She dodged out of the way, but then Rena appeared behind her.

“What the..?” Was all Rena had time to say before leaping on to Tae-eun’s bed. She rolled to the head board and armed herself with a pillow. Yubin seemed ready to hurl a pack of M&Ms at Tae-eun when Rena clobbered the werefox with the pillow on top of the head.

Owwweee! What the hell? It didn’t hurt, but what else was she supposed to think when she was suddenly attacked by her best friend and the SIITY group leader.

“Rena-ya!” Yubin called, and somehow that was all Rena needed to know that Yubin required a pillow. Rena tossed one in Yubin’s direction, spun, and smashed her own pillow into Tae-eun’s muzzle. That one really did hurt. The Gumiho screamed as sparkles swam through her vision.

Yubin hadn’t hit Tae-eun yet, but that was only because she was filling the pillow case with cans of coke and mini bottles of alcohol. The leader whirled the 420 thread count sack of pain over her head, and landed a blow that sounded with an audible crack against Tae-eun’s jaw.

A loud snapping sound escaped the bathroom. Something darted through the air like a flying snake. Michi had been laughing, at the site of the three meter werefox being pillow pounded by two skinny girls half her size, but then the shark woman started gagging. Tae-eun couldn’t see what had happened because at first Yubin blocked her view, and now she was too busy huddling on the floor with her arms protecting her head in the fetal position.

“Don’t… “ another powerful blow to the back of the head from Rena. Damn she’s strong!” “you…!” Yubin’s weighted blow crashed down on her back. Owe! “realize…!” another blow from Rena as she downed her feather filled club like an executioner’s axe. “that I could…!” Yubin delivered another painful blow to Tae-eun’s side and then Rena and Yubin hit her at exactly the same time.

Tae-eun had enough.

Moving faster than any living creature her size should have been able, she grabbed one of her attackers in each of her massive hands. She threw Rena forcefully on to her own bed, and then tossed Yubin effortlessly onto the other where Michi had been sitting.

“…tear you apart!” Neither of the women had a proper sense of self preservation. Attacking a gumiho with pillows… With pillows!

Bombastic #BookBlitz: Ashes to Memories by Annie Anderson

Ashes to Memories
Annie Anderson
(Ashes to Ashes #5)
Publication date: October 13th 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

What she doesn’t know just might kill her.

Nicola is having trouble settling into her new life.

Memories assault her at every turn – even in her dreams. When a friend comes to her for aid, Nicola is once again thrust into a dangerous world – a world she still cannot remember.

Kyle thought the worst was over.

Sure, his wife can’t remember their beginning, but even with a few bumps, having her is better than not. But keeping Nicola alive is a full-time job even he might not be able to fulfill – especially when his darling wife decides to jump into the fray.

It turns out the worst has only just begun.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

There are too many people here. Too many chances for me to be touched by these strangers. I don’t want their memories or lives or future on my soul.

I don’t want this. Am I supposed to save them? Should I change their lives? I did with the sorority girl, but was I right to do so? Did I do the wrong thing? What right do I have to change their circumstances? Isn’t that what Iva was doing – changing the position of the players on the board until all she could see was how she could move them?

My breaths come fast and shallow. Even though I can’t see a single thing, I’m dizzy in a way that I know I’m about to pass out on the pavement.

Panic attack. This is a panic attack.

But I’m saved again when the warm, safe touch of Kyle’s fingers thread with mine before another person can steal my sight – before I have to see how awful their deaths will be.

“Jesus. I looked back, and you were gone. What the fuck, Nicola, you started walking the other way,” he growls in my ear, but he must sense that I’m hanging on by a thread because he wraps an arm around me, protecting me from the crowd. Even in the heat, his warmth is a balm to my tattered nerves. I claw at him, burrowing into his chest as I grip the fabric of his shirt.

“I can’t see, Ky. Too many visions. You have to get me out of here,” I whisper, trembling so bad I have trouble getting the words out. I know he hears me fine when he sweeps me up into his arms and moves us. Cool air conditioning caresses my face, the scent changing drastically once we get inside.

“Can I help you? Oh my god, is she okay?” a young yet smoky female voice calls.

“Yeah, it’s the heat. We’re from up north, so she’s not used to it,” Kyle replies.

“I have some bottled water in the employee fridge. I’ll be right back,” the woman offers and her footsteps float away.

Information comes to me faster than I can help. Her name is Grace. She’s twenty-nine and single. Her only real companion is a German Shepherd named Joe who hides out in the back room of this boutique until she can close up for the day and moves to her apartment upstairs. She owns this shop, scraping together everything she saved and the inheritance from some long dead grandmother to buy it. Grace is also nearly a full-blooded Witch and has absolutely no idea. She was adopted at birth to a lovely, healthy, close-knit human family.

Fabulous – well, I sort of mean that one. Honestly, believing she’s human might be the best thing for her in this climate, but right now that helps us precisely nil. Except for maybe the bottle of water she’s holding in her hand as she passes it off to Kyle. I guzzle the cold liquid, letting it cool the burn in my throat – allowing it to quiet the scream brewing there. I hate that I can only see her in my head and not with my eyes.

While I may be happy Grace – as sweet as she is in my mind’s eye – isn’t mired in the violence that is coming, we came to New Orleans for answers, and she doesn’t have them.

Or at least I don’t think she does.

“Y’all aren’t even close to human. The way she’s lighting up like a Christmas tree and the cast of your eyes, I’m gonna go ahead and bet on it. Let me turn my sign to closed, and you can tell me what in the blue hell you think you’re doing here in my shop. The coven knows they aren’t welcome and if you’re here to start trouble, you aren’t either,” Grace informs us in her smoky southern drawl. The slide of the deadbolt and slither of the sign against the glass door makes me shiver a little.

“We aren’t here to cause trouble, but it does seem to follow us around like a magnet. We were getting out of the foot traffic,” Kyle assures her, but I do the exact opposite of what I’m supposed to do. I do the exact opposite of what he wants me to do, too.

I cause trouble.

Three gloriously wicked mafia bosses.

As the daughter of crime kingpin, Carlo Costello, I have responsibilities.

And I’ll have three kings to reign beside me.

That is, if the sex and the seduction doesn’t kill me first.

One of my lovers is a traitor.

My heart doesn’t care.

But the families will.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

I hated being challenged.  That was one of the things I loved so much about my boyfriend, Bo.  I felt like we were equals at all times, that he respected my independence as much as I did his.  This man … he looked like he enjoyed being the only alpha in the room.

“Do you know what you remind me of?” I told him, feeling irritation creep across my skin like the legs of a thousand tiny spiders.

“I haven’t the faintest idea,” he said, just the slightest hint of an Italian accent creeping into his words.  “Un uomo che vuoi scopare?”

I pursed my lips.

“No, not like a man I want to fuck,” I said, letting the last word snap off my lips like a rubber band.  Marcell’s expression stayed exactly as it was—infuriating, engaging, utterly and completely lickable.

He was almost too beautiful to be real, but also, apparently, a fucking prick.

“Actually, you remind me of a vampire in a novel for teenage girls.”  I crossed my arms over the front of my dress, feeling the expensive satin brush against against my skin like a lover’s caress.  “One of those old, clichéd characters that are about to turn three hundred years old and are going around hitting on high school girls.”

“Is it the accent or the suit?” he asked me, still completely unfazed, still smiling.

Marcell leaned forward and put his arm on the table.

“Because if it’s the suit, me lo posso togliere.

I can take it off, he says.

Total prick.

Author Bio:

C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn’t mind – especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.

She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she’s not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She’s the author of over thirty novels – romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There’s a heck of a lot to do there.

Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She’s already looking forward to it.

Excerpt:

Chapter One

Crow Reservation, Montana

Brandon Winchester, aka Bronco, rapped at the door of the address his boss, Bert Blackfeather, had texted him that morning with instructions to get there pronto. Pushing the big bike as hard as he dared, it had taken him most of the day to get from Colorado to the Crow Reservation in Montana. Once there, he had to navigate his way through the maze of streets, pick-up trucks, SUVs, horseback riders, kids kicking a soccer ball, clusters of adults, and a yappy little dog determined to pursue him for the last mile. Saddle sore, tired, and hungry, he thought about his breakfast back in Denver, and his stomach growled.

Much earlier that day, he’d been sitting in a restaurant, the kind he preferred with three glass sides and the kitchen at his back. On a much needed break between cases, Bronco had been inhaling a mountain of sausages and pancakes dripping with syrup, occasionally slipping a link to his whining friend in his mesh-topped leather backpack. When his phone buzzed and Bert’s number popped up, he knew it was urgent. Sticky fingers smearing prints on the screen, he had finally gotten the phone up to his ear.

Bert’s voice boomed. “We’ve got a situation, and you’re the closest guy I’ve got in the region.”

“What’s the assignment?”

His boss barked, “When you get there you’ll find out.”

Bert never snapped at his agents. Calm and cool under pressure, the big man’s voice held a note of panic.

Something was wrong. Dreadfully wrong.

“Hey, man.” Bronco waved at the server for the check. “I’m not trying to give you a hard time. Just trying to figure out what you need me to take care of.”

“I’m texting you the address. Drop whatever you’re doing and get out there. Call me on my secure line when you arrive.”

Bronco licked his fingers and sighed. He’d been hoping to break the long dry spell created by his last two assignments. So much for asking that cute little blonde in the next booth who’d been flirting with him for the last thirty minutes if she wanted to go for a ride.

“Okay, boss, I’m on it.”

“Good. And by the way, don’t take no for an answer.”

He stared at the silent phone. Don’t take no for an answer? What was that supposed to mean? Mounting his bike and kicking it into high gear, he guessed he’d find out soon enough.

Bronco now stood squinting in the late afternoon sun, knocking at a door with no bell, and waiting for a response. Dogs barked and a window curtain twitched. Good. Someone was home. He adjusted his pack, leaned his head back, closed his eyes, and said, “Any time now.” As the words slid out of his mouth, he heard the unmistakable sound of a shotgun being pumped.

Uh. Oh.

He raised his hands. “Don’t shoot. I’m unarmed.” Turning slowly to face his fate, his jaw fell open, and his heart rate kicked up a notch from being on the wrong end of a shotgun or from the weapon holder’s looks, he wasn’t sure. A raven haired Amazon in a tank top, jeans, and metal tipped cowboy boots held the Mossberg 500 in a perfect military stance. Long strands of hair blew across her face in the hot breeze. A large purple bruise bloomed on her left cheek. She squinted her dark brown eyes and gave him a laser-beam once over from his dusty black boots to his sweat soaked do- rag.

“Who are you, and what do you want?”

If he hadn’t been so intent on not getting killed, he would have spent more time staring at those full, luscious, kissable lips and thinking about how she would taste. As it was, he guessed he had less than a minute to respond before getting blasted into the next county.

“Bronco Winchester. Bert Blackfeather sent me.”

Shaking her head, she lowered her weapon, a grimace pulling those pretty lips downward. “Tell him I said no.”

“We have a problem. My boss specifically ordered me not to take no for an answer.”

She scowled, and he could have sworn sparks flew from her eyes. “Asshat.”

“Pardon me?”

She pointed at the door. “Go ahead. It’s not locked. I don’t need a security system.”

Bronco stepped aside. “Ladies first.” Just as the woman passed him to enter the house, his backpack shifted and wiggled.   Not a good time.  The   weight bounced up and down and paws thumped his back in response.

She stood in the doorway and waved him inside. Three large, mixed-breed dogs greeted them with howls and wagging tails.

He chuckled. “These are your watch dogs?” His laugh caught in his throat when she gestured and the pack stood and began to growl and raise their hackles. “Just kidding. Good doggies.”

Another hand signal and the snarling Cujo wannabes sat and wagged their tails. He could have sworn they were smirking at him. “I stand corrected.”

“Yes, you do. And yes, you will be.” After retrieving the chambered shells, she placed the weapon in a rack at the side of the door. “We’re going to call my darling brother and get this little misunderstanding straightened out.”

Bronco’s tongue untangled, “Your what?”

She snorted, “Let me guess. He didn’t tell you I’m his sister.”

He shook his head, and the backpack quaked and emitted a low growl.

The dogs took note, three heads swiveling in a choreographed move that would have broken the Internet, had he gotten it on video. The largest dog, a German shepherd mix, stood on his hind legs like a human and stared at the now dancing rucksack.

“Whatever you’ve got in your pack, you’d better let it out before my dogs knock you down.”

“Probably not a great idea.” The beast on his back yowled. Bad timing, my friend.

Hand on her hip, Amazon woman stared at him and waited in silence.

Bronco sighed. “Okay. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. You can come out now, Gaucho.” He set the pack on a chair and unzipped the mesh top. An enormous harness-wearing spotted cat with long tufts at the tips of his black ears launched himself out of the bag, landed on his shoulder, teetered for a nanosecond, and then wrapped himself around Bronco’s neck. The end of a long leash rested in Bronco’s hand. Loud purring commenced—and the dogs erupted in howling.

Bombastic #BookBlitz: In Wolves’ Clothing by Greg Levin

In Wolves’ Clothing
Greg Levin
Publication date: October 11th 2017
Genres: Adult, Psychological Thriller

Zero Slade is not a bad guy—he merely plays one when saving children’s lives.

During his seven years on a team fighting child sex trafficking, Zero’s become quite good at schmoozing with pimps, getting handcuffed by cops and pretending not to care about the Lost Girls he liberates. But the dangerous sting operations are starting to take their toll on his marriage and sanity. His affinity for prescription painkillers isn’t exactly helping matters.

When the youngest girl the team has ever rescued gets abducted from a safe house in Cambodia, Zero decides to risk everything to find her. His only shot is to go rogue—and sink deeper into the bowels of the trafficking world than he’s ever sunk.

It’s the biggest mission of his life. Trouble is, it’s almost certain death.

“A truly original and enthralling novel. Levin’s blazing prose and acerbic wit capture the madness—and the humanity—of working undercover in the darkest corners.”

Radd Berrett, former Jump Team member, Operation Underground Railroad

EXCERPT:

Guadalajara.

The guys and I ogle the dozen or so pre-teen prostitutes being led into our villa by three slim, scowling men. Each of the men is wearing a different soccer jersey that looks the same. Each of the girls is wearing whatever discount-rack party dress the pimps forced them into. The room smells like Drakkar Noir and sweat mixed with Cotton Candy and fear. Some of the girls look at us and try to smile. The rest of them probably aren’t aware we exist.

We offer the girls some sodas as they plop onto couches and chairs in the huge open living room. Barrett says something silly in broken Spanish and several of the girls giggle. Even one of the pimps is smiling. I pour myself a glass of tequila and wink at a ten-year-old.

The trick to looking excited when children are presented to you for sex is to remember you are saving their lives. If you don’t look excited, the pimps will get suspicious. Show your anger and disgust, and you ruin everything.

I take a sip of tequila and grin at a child and would kill for an oxy. The one I ate an hour ago is losing its luster. But two on the job, that’s a no-no.

For help getting into character, think about the biggest douchebag frat guy you’ve ever met, imagine him with several million dollars, multiply his money and demeanor by ten, and then act like that guy. Right up until the cops remove your handcuffs and thank you.
