**I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest read.**
I will be honest with you, I am slowly making my way through the stories. The first story had me a little thrown. I didn’t know exactly what to expect. It was a thoroughly surprising story and had a fitting ending.
My goal was to read Marie Skye’s Affliction. I wanted to know what the story was about because I’d seen the teasers for it. She definitely didn’t disappoint. I absolutely loved this story. The dark with the light had me devouring the pages to the point of screaming when I came to the end. I love stories that make me laugh out loud and want to root for the one that is the unlikely hero. Twisted and exciting all rolled into one.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the stories if these to a simple hints at what’s to come.

PETITION DENIED by Alyson Hale
I pull my wife’s zipper down and yank her dress off, ignoring her kicking against me. With her dark hair fanned out over the pillow and her full, round breasts splayed for my pleasure, I’ve never seen anything more tantalizing. Before I do anything to her, I need to make sure she wants this, but I’m certain she does. Her moans and the obvious hardness of her round, small nipples mean more to me than the fruitless jabs of her knees into my hardened core. When I steal a glance at her pussy, I can’t help but grin at the way it glistens. No matter how hard she fights, she can’t hide her desire for me. It’s written all over every inch of her body. She is still mine.
Easing into my planned night of debauchery, I run my rough hand over her smooth, naked flesh and capture her lips in another kiss.
“Lana Grace Law, you are mine, body, and soul,” I whisper softly between kisses. “Trying to escape me is futile.”
“You’re a bastard,” she growls, her brows drawn down in anger.
I shoot her a grin that makes her pelvis quiver. “I think you’ll come to forgive me enough times.”

EXCITABLE by Brittney Coon
Leo is lying on the bed like a good boy. I tie his hands and feet to the posts and pull the knife out from beneath the sheet I stashed it under.
“Do you want to see what the fucking queen of the sick and damned does with this?” I move the knife back and forth between my fingers.
“Shit,” he hisses. “I don’t want to—”
I straddle him and let the cool blade to touch his collarbone. “You using the mommy card already?”
He presses his head into the bed and chews on his bottom lip. “Fine.”
I let the knife lick his peck, making a small cut. He screws his eyes shut as I kiss the sting away.
“I dare you to untie me.” His voice comes from low in his throat, making me stop from making another cut.
“A dare, huh? You know I can’t back down from a dare…”
“Then let me go and this game is over.”
I toss the knife onto the floor. It clings on the wooden surface. “You done with me already?”
“No. I just want my fucking hands on you. I want you in my mouth. Why don’t we just forget these toys and—”
I untie him and sit on the corner of the bed. “And what, fuck like normal people?”
He licks his lips and brushes his finger over my breast. “We just do whatever animals do…”
“But we’re not falling in love. Deal?”

HER MISTAKE by N. Mills
He pushed my hand away again. “Stop poking me, Belle,” he warned again.
The nickname only ignited my fury more. I could have died tonight or gone to prison. My whole fucking life, I made responsible decisions, and the one night I made a bad one, this guy swooped in and almost ruined everything. I slammed my index into his chest once more. His warm fingers wrapped around my wrist, and he pushed me against the wall. His fist hit the wall next to me. I couldn’t help it, I flinched, and I hated myself for it.
His eyes were bright with anger. I slapped him for making me flinch. Before I knew what was happening, my hands were pinned against the wall above my head. My heart slammed against my ribs, and our heavy breaths mingled together. The air between us shifted.
Our lips collided into a frantic kiss. His hands on my wrists tightened, and he pressed closer to me. He let go of my hands, and I tangled them into his hair as I tried to get closer. He cupped my ass and lifted me from the ground. I wrapped my legs around his waist and shoved his cut from his shoulders. He had me sandwiched between him and the wall as he helped me yank his shirt off, only breaking the kiss to get it over his head. It was like being deprived of oxygen when he pulled away.
I sucked in a sharp breath at the sight of his bare chest. His arms were covered in full sleeves and on his chest sat a jester tattoo, one side of its face the laughing joker, the other half with tears silently falling. His hungry jade eyes met mine and something passed between us. If I was religious, I’d call it spiritual.

From the NYT Bestselling author of MISTER O, comes a sexy new standalone romance…

Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…
1. She works with me every single day.
Did I mention she’s gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?
2. She works in my home.
Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…
3. She’s the nanny.
And that makes her completely off-limits…But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.

***

The other nannies in this city don’t call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.

I can’t risk my job for a chance at something more…can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…

With all the heat, heart and humor readers have come to expect, this newest standalone will make you laugh, swoon and feel like you’re falling in love!

the-sexy-one-rwb-teaser-3

A swoony, forbidden standalone contemporary romance, THE SEXY ONE is a forbidden love story, the romantic tale of a single father falling head over heels for the smart, kind and beautiful nanny. Resistance is hard as these two fall deeply in love while she works in his home. But forbidden romances are fraught with their own challenges, and nothing comes easily for this couple. Told in dual POV, THE SEXY ONE is being called Lauren Blakely’s most romantic novel yet. THE SEXY ONE is swoony, sweet, hot and forbidden.

“A good old-fashioned love story with a forbidden twist.”

***I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

Kenna and Griffin’s story was a bit of a mix of a military romance and bdsm. I thoroughly enjoyed the arc of the character’s story. The friends were fun and funny anytime they were on the page. I’ve read other works by the author and this wasn’t one that got to me. There were beautiful moments that caused my heartstrings to pull. I don’t know if it was the ARC copy but the formatting bothered me a bit. I don’t believe I connected with this story. It was missing something or the thorough descriptions of the rope play was a turn off. It won’t go in my favorites list.

Dylan and Nicole are absolutely adorable. I loved these characters. They were relatable. I felt their pain and their frustration. Kudos to Kelly for doing such a fantastic job with this work. I was reeled in. There were a couple moments when I was worried about the outcome and where things were going with the story. In the end, I was happy with the results. A wonderful read. I recommend this read.

He blocked her way but didn’t budge. Wet hair hung around her face, trickles of water sliding down her shoulders and disappearing into the towel. She looked so pretty, so sweet.

Caught in that magnetic force that always bound them together, neither one made a move. His hands fisted to keep from touching her. He wanted…what did it matter what he wanted?

And then she smiled, breaking the tension. She reached around him for her doorknob.

His heart pounded, his nerves vibrated. He wanted to say something to keep her, but he couldn’t keep her. He couldn’t have her at all.

Her door opened, and she stepped inside. She’d shut him out in one second, and he’d be stuck with Brittany, Todd, Joe, and Kevin for the night. For all the nights of his college life. And then he’d go home to his Colorado friends and sink back into the sameness, the ugliness of that life.

And this girl? She was like a portal to a whole different world. Fresh, clean, pure.

He could feel her warm body curving along his under the covers, smell her subtle, sweet scent, see the look in her eyes in the darkness just before they fell asleep—the soundest sleep he’d ever had in his life—and he wanted that. Wanted it so badly his body throbbed with it.

Silver-by-KA-Linde HIGH RES2Stacia Palmer had one goal in life–to become an NFL quarterback’s wife.

For the past three years, she’s seduced her way through the university’s football line-up. But when she finally has a quarterback fresh off the draft, Stacia experiences a shocking change of heart. One that sends her back to the place she never thought she’d return to.

Vegas.

Once there, she finds that no one believes her. Least of all Pace Larson, her sexy on-again off-again ex who has never quite gotten over her leaving him for someone else. Of course, he’s now the starting quarterback and determined to claim her as his prize.

But can Stacia give him a second chance when he’s toyed with her emotions into the fourth quarter? Or will they run out of time?

Stacia felt a presence at her shoulder. She recognized his cologne before she even looked up. It smelled like desire and late-night sex marathons.

Pace.

“What do you want?” Stacia asked, not looking up.

“Just coming to check on you,” Pace said in a sexy low tone that sent a shot of need straight between her legs.

Damn him for being able to do that to me!

She jerked her head up. “Why?”

“Because you look miserable, even from across the room.”

“I do not!”

He raised an eyebrow, and she had to keep from sighing. That face. God, if he wasn’t such an asshole…

“The hair flip earlier, Pink? Really? Sure sign of distress. You practically called me over here.”

Don’t call me that,” she said through gritted teeth.

He smirked at her response.

“And I didn’t call you over here. I don’t even want to see you.”

“You can talk to me, you know.” He leaned his hip against the bar. He was almost touching her but not quite. She could feel the heat of his skin. “Come on, let’s go outside. Away from all this noise.”

“If you think for one second that I’m going to go anywhere with you, you’re insane,” she said, straightening.

He brushed her hair off one shoulder and just barely skimmed his finger across her exposed collarbone. She stiffened. Her entire body throbbed. No one else elicited these primal emotions from her. Not even the guy she’d given her virginity to. The guy no one knew about.

“I promise I won’t touch you,” he growled out. “Unless you beg me to.”

Stacia smacked him in the chest and stormed away. What an arrogant jackass! How dare he say those things to her! For all he knew, she was still dating Marshall. Pace was so testy over the fact that he thought she’d slept with Marshall when they were together, yet here he was, seducing her, while he still believed she was with Marshall. Ass!

Pace chuckled behind her. “Come on, Stacia. I’m just messing with you.”

He followed her across the crowded room until she reached the restroom. Then, he did exactly what he’d said he wouldn’t. He grabbed her arm and kept her from entering a place he wouldn’t follow.

“Seriously, what’s up?” he asked.

“Do you really want to know?” Fury and also desperation coated her features. She really wanted to tell someone. She wanted it off her chest.

“Yeah. Though this fire is pretty hot.” He raised an eyebrow.

“God, is everything just a joke to you?” she asked.

His eyes shot straight through her. “Not everything.”

“Feels like it. I feel like a joke to you.”

“Most things, Pink,” he said, stepping closer, “but not you. Never you.”

Stacia tensed as she forgot the world around her. Pace had a way of doing that—making her lose herself. But all she did by losing herself was open herself up for him to hurt her. Time and time again.

“Pace,” she said through a shuddering breath.

“I won’t take what isn’t mine.”

“Good.”

“I just still consider you mine.”

Review

***I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

In all honesty, this wasn’t one of my favorite books. I enjoyed the combative nature’s of the hero and heroine of this book. I loved the way everything came together. What I didn’t enjoy had everything to do with just how juvenile the issues were that the characters faced. When I was reading, I felt as if this should be a young adult book versus a new adult story.

Maybe it was just me, but I didn’t face cliquish issues or deal with the “popular kids” tendencies in college. I found myself screaming on a few occasions because I wanted the women to just grow up. Any of those situations were a turn off for me. Overall, this was a decent read. My rating is based on just how well written the story was and the fact that it did have me having an emotional reaction to it.

Release and Review

I’ve watched him from afar for years. And he has no idea. I take joy in that.

Through my observations, I’ve learned what makes this charming villain tick.

Whisky.

Power.

Beautiful women.

And Sex. Lots of it.

Sometimes you must get into bed with the enemy for the greater good. And that’s what I’ll do; it’s all part of making Sinclair Breckenridge fall in love with me so I can penetrate his inner circle.

There’s hell to pay.

I’m a dark horse. The perfect storm.

I am Bleu MacAllister. And I’m coming for him.
AMAZON      Barnes & Noble    iBooks

EXCERPT:

Bleu MacAllister’s POV:

“You better be worth all this work and waiting.” He nips my bottom lip and gives my ass another painful squeeze before turning to walk to his car.

Anticipation—it builds excitement and suspense. The brain really is a sexual organ, even for men. Sin is going to spend the next five days and nights fantasizing about what it’ll be like when he finally has me beneath him. Waiting is something he’s never had to do so this is another way of setting me apart from the others before me. It proves I’m worth the wait and far more than just fuckworthy.
I’ve watched her from afar for weeks. And she has no idea.

Bleu MacAllister ran from me three months ago. She thought she could disappear from my life. My beloved believed I’d let her go.

Wrong.

Bleu says I won’t find her; she changes like a chameleon. Wrong, again. Some things remain unaltered. She’s still beautiful. Sexy as hell. And I want her more than my next breath.

The circumstances bringing us together have changed. It’s a precarious situation because my bonny lass is a hunted traitor. But I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

She will be my wife.

I am Sinclair Breckenridge. And I’m coming for her.

Excerpt
Sinclair’s POV

I’m in the background of Bleu’s life, as I have been for weeks. I have eyes on her at all times, even when they’re not my own. I safeguard her from harm. It’s all I’ve done since tracking my lass down in a small town in Mississippi, right outside of Memphis. I act as her protector from afar and she has no idea. She believes she’s hidden from The Fellowship—and me—but she couldn’t be more wrong. I’m always here, keeping a watchful eye on her and the MacAllister family.
I often need to be reminded that this is Bleu’s world. Every person she has contact with isn’t a threat but there’s an enormous problem with that. I have no idea who’s friend or foe.
I was concerned when Bleu disappeared at the bar with a man earlier tonight. I was on the verge of barging into the back until my lass came out on stage to perform with the band. I don’t think I’ve ever been so surprised in all my life. I knew she played but I never pegged her for a public performer. That doesn’t seem like my Bonny at all.
But I guess I don’t really know the real Bleu MacAllister. I only know the woman she pretended to be.

Sinclair Breckenridge is my husband. We’re up and coming leaders to The Fellowship and parents to be. But my new life doesn’t come easily. Not when long buried secrets––and far more than I bargained for––finally reveal my mother’s killer.

Sin vows to do anything to keep our little ones and me safe, even if his promise means denying me of the one thing I want most in this world. He doesn’t understand it’s the death of my dream. And that’s a problem.

Review
I could not stop reading. I quickly moved through this series. It was a spectacular read. Each book had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I completely adored these characters. Sin and Bleu slayed me. Definitely would recommend this series to another. My goodness this set of books was good and I’m so happy I signed up to read them. Well done, Ms. Cates!

STRIPPED DOWN BANNERavailablenow

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000037_00035]What do you get when you mix a bottle of tequila, a single mom moonlighting as a stripper, and her sinfully sexy boss with an impulsive side?

Married. You get married.

Rich. Demanding. Hot. Crazy.

That was Beckett Cruz in a nutshell.

Not to mention wild, determined, dangerous, and forbidden.

He was my boss—and, after a drunken moment of insanity, my new husband.

An annulment was impossible… so was keeping him.

I was taking my daughter and leaving, determined to give her a quieter life.

But Beckett Cruz had never taken no for an answer.

And he wasn’t about to take mine.

What happens in Vegas… might just keep you there.

EXCERPT

“Beck?” I managed to get his name out just before he opened the front door.

“Yeah?” He spun back to face me, his dark eyes unreadable.

I turned my face to the side so I could see him fully. “You don’t have to go,” I said softly. “You can stay. Only if you want to though.”

He rubbed his hand down his face, his eyes never leaving mine, then walked back into the kitchen toward me. I stood up away from the fridge as he stopped right next to me.

Slowly, he touched his hand to my face, his fingertips teasing my hairline. His dark gaze searched mine, and my heart jumped into my throat as the usual tingles his touch sparked danced down my neck. Then, he slid his hand into my hair, allowing the blonde strands to fall away from his fingertips.

“Do I want to go home to my big-ass house with its cold emptiness?” he asked in a low voice. “Or go to the club where half the girls there still see me as a mountain to be conquered? Not particularly, Blondie. I’d rather stay here. Even if there will be a demand for movies and water and foot rubs from a tiny, sick person.”

“You can.” My voice was quiet, like his. Even if my internal screams from self-preservation and vulnerability were deafeningly loud as they told me I was a fool, that he had

to go, that this would never be enough for him.

“Do you want me to?” His question was… honest.

Raw.

Hesitant.

Like he didn’t want me to answer.

“Do I want you to stay here in my tiny house so my daughter can fall more in love with you than she already is? Not really. But…” Don’t be a fool, Cassie. Don’t admit you want him to stay. He’s just going to hurt you. “I don’t exactly want you to go either.”

“For her, or for you?”

“I don’t want to answer that question.”

“If I kissed you right now, would you ram your knee into my cock?”

“I’d briefly consider it, but I probably wouldn’t do it.”

His lips twitched to the side. “You just answered the question.”

Then, of course, he cupped the back of my head, and he kissed me. It was slow, sweet, gentle. And I didn’t consider kneeing him in the balls for a single second.

Beck pulled back and trailed his hand down my arm before he finally let me go. “I’m going home to get changed and then come back. Do you need anything while I’m gone? For CiCi? You?”

“I don’t…” I sighed and chewed back my pride. “I meant to go to the store today after work to get some stuff like bread, milk… important stuff. But now I can’t.”

“I can get it. Just tell me what you need.”

I bit the inside of my lip, then nodded. “Okay. Let me write it down.” I walked through into the front room with him hot on my heels and grabbed the notebook and pen from under the coffee table. A few things were already scrawled down, so I added a couple more things, including more medicine. I tore the sheet off the notebook, stood, then gave it to Beck. “Let me get my wallet.”

He grabbed my wrist, stopping me. “I’m not taking your money.”

I lifted my gaze to his. “You can’t pay for my groceries.”

“I can and I will.”

“You can’t and you won’t.”

“I can and I will.”

“You can’t and you won’t.”

“I can do this all day, baby. I’m stubborn as fuck.” His eyes told me he wasn’t lying. “And we all know I’m a brat about the word no. So, I can, I will, and I’m going to. If I can’t help you by buying a measly eight items, I’m an asshole who shouldn’t be allowed around other people.”

“You can’t buy my groceries,” I repeated. It was a lame argument. I was going to lose, but I’d fight until I went down.

Beck’s eyes twinkled as he leaned in. “Don’t worry. If you really want to pay me back, I’ll take a blow job. I imagine your lips around my cock will be a pretty good thank you.”

My jaw dropped as he backed off with a wink.

“Mouth open already, Cassie? Enthusiasm. I like that.”

I snapped my jaw shut and glared at him. “You’re a dirty pig.”

“I know. But I’ve got fifty bucks that says you’ll be sucking my dick by bedtime. If you don’t agree…” He shrugged one shoulder, his lips curved in that dangerous smirk.

“If you’re lucky, I’ll bite it.”

“I’ll take that as I’m in for a good time.”

One more wink, complete with expanding grin, and he was gone.

Motherfucking asshole.

Review

**I was gifted this a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.**

What can I say about this book … good read? Yes. Engaging? Yes. Recommend? Yes.

This book was the first book I’ve read by this author. I’m glad I did. I giggled and smiled through most of the book. I adored the dynamics between the characters. Cici slayed me every time she graced the page. I even had a few teary-eyed moments. Any book that takes me on a roller coaster ride with my emotions is definitely recommendation worthy. There were some technical things that bothered me, but overall a worthy read. Oh how I wanted to shake Cassie a few times over, but Beck took care of that for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the ending. Fantastic!

Review
I knew from the first few lines of this story that it was going to shred me. This won’t be a long, drawn out review. No, it’s going to be short, sweet, and to the point. The story is completely amazing. Enjoy!

GWEN

It starts to rain, big heavy drops, the dark sky finally unleashing the fury that it has threatened all day. The water gushes at our feet and the sound of the rain fills the once quiet street like the roar of an awe-inspiring waterfall. We run like school kids back to the bed and breakfast, straight to our cozy room, where we strip off our wet clothes and make love in front of a warm fire. And I think, I remember this, this passion. How could I forget? And when I am overcome with my release, my toes curling and my heart nearly pounding out of my chest, I’m hit with a wave of emotions. Overwhelmed to the point of tears, I bury my face in John’s chest while he shudders his own release. When his breath evens out, he pulls back and looks deep into my eyes, stirring up feelings of guilt once again.

“Sometimes I love you so much that I can’t breathe,” he whispers, as he tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear, a gesture that conjures so many emotions within me. A stray tear slowly trickles down my cheek. And all I can think of is the unfairness of it all. I am so happy. My life is perfect in so many ways. I have survived so much already. Why can’t I just have this one thing? Is it too much to ask?

And as if reading my mind, John says, “Sometimes I’m so happy that I find myself holding my breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Like a person can’t possibly deserve this much happiness, ya know?” He gently wipes away my tear with the pad of his thumb and I suddenly can’t breathe. I stare at him so intently, it’s like I’m willing him to hear my thoughts so that I don’t have to say the words aloud. And in the same moment, I know that I can’t say the words aloud. I love him so much that I can’t break his heart. I can’t take this moment from him. I would do anything to protect him from this pain.

I close my eyes, breaking the laser focus of our gaze and whisper, “I love you too, John. So much.” I kiss him on the lips, pushing it all aside and think, Later. I’ll tell him later. And then I take a breath. Because that’s all I can do for now.

Review

3.5 Star**I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to begin this review with an honest statement. I haven’t finished reading the book. I’m finding it difficult to complete this work. It’s disappointing because I am a huge fan of Marie Force’s works. I’ve tried several times to complete it and I’ve only made it to the halfway point of the book. I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m not in the right headspace for the content. Maybe, it’s the fact that there is a mystery to be solved and I’m battling my great desire to skip to the end to find out how the case is solved. I just don’t know, but I’m struggling with the read. The couple is just amazingly cute. I didn’t read the book prior so I am new to this couple. I’m going to update my review once I’ve finished reading to see if the rating will stand. I’m still in limbo here.
