Bombastic #BookBlitz: Gavin by Russell

Gavin
Russell
(Gavin Nolan’s Biography #1)
Publication date: March 14th 2017
Genres: Adult, Thriller

The Chicago summer is heating up…

In a luxurious hotel off Michigan Avenue, Detective Gavin Nolan arrives on a grisly scene. Two men have been brutally murdered, and one of the victims has a familiar face. The twisted display is like nothing Gavin has ever seen, but it’s the message scrawled in blood on the bathroom mirror that leaves him reeling: Gavin, you could have saved me.

Other men have been viciously slain as well over the last few weeks. As he dives further into the victims’ lives, Gavin and his partner, Derrick, discover that each of the men have a common thread—one that Gavin shares. It’s a reality he has suppressed for years.

On top of Gavin’s personal chaos, the killer is displaying the bodies in a series of specific designs to depict a long ago memory. Recognizing the pattern, Gavin soon is forced to recall the dark event. In order to catch the killer, Gavin must reconcile his past.

Before he becomes the final victim himself.

GAVIN is a sexual thriller that will leave you breathless…

WARNING: This book contains graphic scenes, explicit language, and violent, sexual situations.

EXCERPT:

Because he traveled eighty percent of the time for his job, his high-ranking position allowed him to wrangle in new customers from the competition, exceed sales goals for each period, and establish rigorous and ruthless monthly goals for his team. Honestly, he loved his job: travel was the perfect excuse. Even more importantly, he could escape from his pathetic home life. On his business trips, he could be what he wished to be, what he longed to be, and become who he should have been.

The liaisons were uninhibited personal treats for the salesman.

His indiscretions never interrupted his work schedule. He worked especially hard—meeting with his clients, going to early dinners, and creating a tight schedule—so he could have time for his fun.

Next to him, the Latino breathed softly against his naked shoulder. The salesman thought about how he loved these moments of caressing his lovers as his hand stroked the curvature of the young Latino’s back. His lover moved slightly and whispered in his ear, “I’m jumping in the shower first. Feel all sweaty.”

With that, the Latino leaned over and savagely kissed him, rolling his tongue around and pressing his stubbly face against the salesman’s smooth one. Moments later, the satisfied lover drew away with a seductive smile. Then he slid his body across the white sticky sheets and walked toward the bathroom. How his round bare ass looked marvelously delicious. Even in the faint light, the impressions of red hand prints still remained. Echoes of last night.

He could be the lover of many men. The salesman did not care about a partner’s history, their past lovers, or even their race. Truly, olive-skinned lovers enticed his inner desires the most. Despite it, he only cared about the pending pleasure.

The bathroom light shot out over the shadows, and soon the hard sound of water drummed against the granite surfaces. The Latino’s soft hum broke the tranquility of the hotel suite. It hadn’t been the first time he had been with this particular lover. Just so coincidental that he had gotten an email the other day.

How quickly the Latino responded to his reply.

Ubiquitous internet sites allowed the salesman to have discreet interactions. Sometimes he remained anonymous. Other times, he used pseudonyms. Rarely, like tonight, he gave out his true name. A name he longed to forget, yet it was engraved in his memories. Oddly, when he would use his birth name, his most adventurous and seductive side was savagely released on those poor men.

Slowly, he swung his legs out from underneath the sweaty hotel sheets. In the glass picture frame, a faint reflection of his bare torso caught his eye as he was trying to ignore the large mirror on the opposite wall. No, he was not a fit man. The bloated surface of his stomach, the receding hairline, and the salt-and-pepper hair all over his body pointed to the opposite. He had to catch his breath walking up a single flight of stairs. Lately, he was having to buy larger clothes. Yet, men still found him attractive. Or was that the money he had been flashing? Still, in the darkened shadow of his image, he could have sworn he had seen his father.

That bastard had been a cruel drunk. While his father never struck him, the cruelty lay within the non-committal forms of hypothetical love: the lack of acknowledgement, the disengaged small talk, the blatant rants, and the pity of cleaning up his vomit each time. No wonder his mother had left when he was seven and never returned.

A brief tremble shook his body. So long it had been since he thought about his father. That was a lifetime ago.

Another life.

“Asshole,” he muttered. After slowly standing up and hearing the soft cracks in his knees, he ambled toward the window.

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Jared

I’m not your boyfriend. I’m not the guy next door. I don’t even play nice.

My hands twisting in your hair, my whispered demand in your ear—I’m the fantasy you’ll wish you never had.

When I’m through with you, every inch of your body will know where I’ve been. You won’t crave more, you’ll beg for it. Because I’m not just the cocky smile with military hardened muscles you paid five grand for—I’m the experience you’ll never forget.

One night with me and you’ll know exactly why women pay me to be rough.

EXCERPT:

I went to the elevator and pushed the call button.

A moment later, she was standing next to me. “You’re angry.”

The doors slid open, and I let her go first to give myself a second to calm down because she was right. The moment I laid eyes on her, I was pissed as hell that she’d shown up at a stranger’s house alone. It didn’t matter that I was the stranger. The fact that she looked so damn innocent and pure mattered. She’d taken a dangerous risk coming here. I didn’t want to think about the shit she could’ve gotten herself into if I was anyone else. “I’m not pissed,” I lied.

Walking with the grace of proper upbringing, she ignored my lie. “I’m not sure if I’ve offended you or if this is your natural disposition.”

“I don’t have a natural disposition.” The Marines beat it out of me and Afghanistan stripped the rest. Now I had two moods, controlled and drunk. Neither was a goddamn picture, or what this girl needed in her life. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t about to test the hell out of her. “Turn around.”

“Excuse me?”

I pushed the button for the garage level. “You heard me.”

She immediately faced the corner.

My nostrils flared, but my dick throbbed at her submission. I stepped up to her back, even though I should’ve walked away. Fisting a handful of thick, natural red hair, I exhaled. My breath landed where her shoulder met her neck, and she did exactly what I wanted her to do, she shivered.

I pushed my hips against her ass just enough for her to feel my desire. “I don’t play nice. Or gentle.” I tightened my fist and spoke against her hair. “And you’ve got vanilla written all over you, sweetheart.”

Author Bio:

Sybil Bartel grew up in Northern California with her head in a book and her feet in the sand. She dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew her into the world of storytelling. She loves the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes her swoon.

Sybil now resides in Southern Florida and while she doesn’t get to read as much as she likes, she still buries her toes in the sand. If she isn’t writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in her backyard, you can find her spending time with her handsomely tattooed husband, her brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…

But Seriously?

Here are ten things you probably really want to know about Sybil.

She grew up a faculty brat. She can swear like a sailor. She loves men in uniform. She hates being told what to do. She can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks her out. Her favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—she can’t decide. She has a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on her for driving directions, ever. And she has a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell her husband.

“You can call me Hunter. I’m the man that took your
wife Lisa and I’m also the man that will be taking things from you and your
friends. I will be taking everything you care about and watching as your life
and anyone else’s life you are involved in falls to the ground.”
I couldn’t help but grind my teeth. Hearing him
threaten my friends and family ignited a fire in me and I couldn’t stop what
came out next, “Listen here you piece of shit. I’m going to take great pride in
bringing you down. I don’t care if its dead or alive, I will find you and I
will end you. You will not touch another one of the people I care about.”
Hunter as he calls himself starts to laugh, “Oh but I
already have Shane but maybe you should ask Macy where I am right now because I
think it may interest you very much.”
I turned fast to look at Macy, she has her head down
and was still typing furiously. She suddenly stopped, she looked like she had
seen a ghost.
“He is outside Dawson’s house Shane!”
The voice on the phone began to laugh again, “You
can’t be everywhere and you can’t be anywhere. See you soon Shane.” With that
the call ended.
Macy was already on her phone relaying the information
to Dawson, I could hear Dawson’s voice raise and that’s when I looked at the
time, Sam would just be stepping out to walk Alyssa to preschool. The school
was at the end of their block and Sam walked everyday to get there.
I quickly hit dial on Sam’s name from my contacts. It
rang… “Come on Sam pick up” I could hear Macy behind me scrambling to get
dressed, I took a cue from her and grabbed whatever was closest to me and threw
it on.
“Hi Shane, what a…”  I heard Sam’s voice, I don’t let her
finish her sentence, “Sam you need to get in doors now! You need to be off the
street.”
I could hear her telling Alyssa to hurry up. Then I
could hear it the sound of an engine revving to life. “Sam move, move now!”
I heard Alyssa scream and then the phone went dead.

EXCERPT:

In a violet polka dot dress and white sweater, Bertie looked like she should be playing bridge and sipping cocktails with the ladies. She embraced who she was wholeheartedly and without apology, her dedication to her authentic self remained evident.

“How’s it going?” Bertie handed Sal a sweet ginger peach tea and kissed Earl on the cheek.

“Okay,” Sal breathed. His chest muscles swelled from moved his ass to get the roses in before dark. “Is…”

“She’s fine.” The moment Bertie said it, Sal saw Kaci’s bright hair go walking towards the car. “She’s running to town to get some things for dinner. You should come take a rest.” Bertie winked at Sal in an attempt to get Earl to sit down.

“Oh! Ya! I’d love too!” Sal played along, feigning exhaustion. He smirked discreetly at Bertie as she walked next to him.

She glanced over to him, and without a sound from her lips she mouthed, “Thank you.”

At the back of the church, the covered porch stood with several rocking chairs. As Earl made his way inside, Sal parked his rump on the stairs. After Bertie had closed the door for her grandfather, she came up and sat close to Sal.

“Smoke?” she offered.

“Dear god, I’d love one.”

She opened the pack for him, and he slid one out. When he did, Bertie innocuously ran her hand over his back. Her touch sent a shiver through him.

“You’re soaked! Get that shirt off before you catch pneumonia!” Bertie hopped up, running into the house.

With the cigarette between his lips, he unbuttoned his damp shirt and tossed the ball cap off. Sal glanced at Bertie, who had reappeared and was studying him. Handing him a red plaid shirt, she blushed. “It’s easy to see what she sees in you.”

Putting on the shirt, he left it unbuttoned. He chuckled anxiously, “This is just…”

“Not what you expected,” Bertie finished, laying her hand a top his own.

“No. Not at all.” Sal shook his head with a smile and held onto her hand from beneath.

“Stop worrying you are going to offend me and just say what’s on your mind.”

“I don’t think I can to be honest.”

“Sure you can. Open up your mouth and talk to me. I won’t bite,” her words dripped slow like honey. “Stop thinking about my dick that you think I want to use like a man, Sal. That’s just a hiccup.”

Letting all his tension go, Sal laughed—a real, genuine laugh. “Are you going to…finish?”

Bertie caught his moss colored eyes with her own sparkling stormy grayish blues. “Am I going to have surgery? Probably one day. It’s not real high on my priority list at the moment. Granddad is dying.”

Heavy with emotional turmoil, his eyes peered into her soul. “I’m sorry I misjudged you.”

She squatted with her knees together, and reflected an intimate look. “Sal, it’s alright. Chill out. Have fun. Stop stressing. Remember, I…am…harmless.”

Feeling at ease, Sal smirked as her long eyelashes blinked at him.

Before he knew it, Bertie pressed her pretty, red lips against his own. Although his head knew better, he wanted to kiss her back—a full-on Raniero tongue-lashing. But he didn’t give her that for fear of what his fighting pixie would think or do to him. He wanted him and Kaci to work out, so he had to be good. He must keep his mind in check over his eager body.

The kiss was just a kiss. But his eyes were planted firmly on her tight derriere as she walked to the door. Everything about her sent him into overdrive. But he felt he was unobtainable for her, and that just made him hate himself that much more.

Bertie opened the door with a seductive grin, her generous, dark curls luring him in like bait. “Sal, I said I was harmless with Kaci. I didn’t say I would be with you.”

Clever #CoverReveal: Wrath Of The Ancients by Catherine Cavendish

WRATH OF THE ANCIENTS
by Catherine Cavendish

DESTINY IN DEATH
Egypt, 1908
Eminent archeologist Dr. Emeryk
Quintillus has unearthed the burial chamber of Cleopatra. But this
tomb raider’s obsession with the Queen of the Nile has nothing to
do with preserving history. Stealing sacred and priceless relics, he
murders his expedition crew, and flees—escaping the quake that
swallows the site beneath the desert sands . . .
Vienna, 1913
Young widow Adeline Ogilvy has accepted
employment at the mansion of Dr. Quintillus, transcribing the late
professor’s memoirs. Within the pages of his journals, she
discovers the ravings of a madman convinced he possessed the ability
to reincarnate Cleopatra. Within the walls of his home, she is
assailed by unexplained phenomena: strange sounds, shadowy figures,
and apparitions of hieroglyphics.
Something pursued Dr. Quintillus from
Egypt. Something dark, something hungry. Something tied to the fate

Following a varied career in sales,
advertising and career guidance, Catherine Cavendish is now the

Blazing #BlogTour: Nate Temple Chronicles by Shayne Silvers

Obsidian Son
The Nate Temple Chronicles Book 1
By Shayne Silvers
Genre: Supernatural Thriller
A city that doesn’t believe in magic. Bloodthirsty weredragons. Good
thing this reckless playboy has superpowers…
It’s been said that monsters cry when a good man goes to war. But they
should run screaming like little school girls when that man is
secretly a wizard, and maybe not necessarily good…
Nate Temple’s all-consuming quest to avenge his parents is temporarily
put on hold when shape-shifting dragons invade St. Louis. And perhaps
cow-tipping the Minotaur for answers might not have been Nate’s
smartest opening move, because now every flavor of supernatural thug
from our childhood nightmares is gunning for him. Nate learns that
the only way to save his city from these creatures is to murder his
best friend…
Nate’s choice will throw the world and his own conscience into cataclysmic
chaos: avenge his parents or become a murderer to save his city.
Because to do either, he’s going to have to show the world that
magic is very, very real, and that monsters are very, very hungry…
To survive, he might just need to take a page from the book, How to
Win Friends and Influence Monsters.
If you like Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, or Patrick Rothfuss, you will
LOVE the first installment of The Nate Temple Supernatural Thriller
series.
Blood Debts
The Nate Temple Chronicles Book 2
A Wizard, an Angel, and a Horseman of the Apocalypse walk into a bar…
The ancient pact between mankind, Heaven, and Hell has been broken. And
this upstart wizard’s quest for vengeance may have just kicked off
Armageddon. So, time for a drink… or maybe two.
Already plagued with sinister night terrors that could qualify him as a
card-carrying psychopathic insomniac, Nate can barely even manage to
put his pants on in the morning, let alone pick teams for the
Apocalypse.
But when he’s framed as a demon sympathizer, condemned by the Armies of
Heaven, and hunted down by both his allies and the Four Horsemen,
this wizard doesn’t think it can get any worse…
Then they take away his magic. And a wizard without magic stands no chance
against the forces of Heaven and Hell…
Grimm
The Nate Temple Chronicles Book 3
The Brothers Grimm – legendary supernatural assassins – have escaped
their prison, and their first day in St. Louis could be Nate Temple’s
last…
Sharing a beer with Death – one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse –
really put a few things into perspective for this foul-mouthed,
billionaire wizard. Like finally strapping on the boots to propose to
his girlfriend.
But assassination contracts have a way of putting wedding plans on hold.
Perhaps permanently. And with the entire wedding party on the
bloodthirsty Grimm’s hit-list, and his family fortune in jeopardy,
Nate realizes they can’t run and they can’t hide. So, time to do
magic and stuff…
But with every flavor of supernatural thug teaming up to help the Grimms,
Nate realizes that friends have become enemies and enemies have
become friends, and he’s forced to cross lines that are better left
uncrossed.
When magic, claws, and teeth dance to the song of war, the only thing left
to learn is who lives and who dies. And if Nate can live with the
consequences.
No wonder a guy is terrified to propose…
Silver Tongue
The Nate Temple Chronicles Book 4
My resume is pretty full: I’ve cow-tipped the Minotaur, decimated a
gang of weredragons, sucker-punched an Angel, and eaten pancakes with
the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse…
I’ve kidnapped one of the most powerful wizards on the planet, and
slaughtered the Brothers Grimm. I’m kind of a big deal.
But I never thought I’d find myself at a crossroads, a pawn in a deadly
game that I hadn’t known existed, willing to sell my soul to save
the life of someone I loved… That’s when I learned true fear,
because the world I thought I knew was all just smoke and mirrors,
and I was just a puppy playing amongst wolves…
Beast Master
The NateTemple Chronicles Book 5
What do you do for Thanksgiving Dinner when your guests are Death, an
Angel, and a slew of other monsters? You have a nerf gun war, of
course… But the Queens of Fae want to crash his party. And the
Beast Master is abducting shifter children for a Monster Circus.

Thanksgiving Dinner plans with Death, an Angel, a vampire, Achilles, and a slew of
other monsters are cut short because a Monster Circus has come to
town. And the Beast Master needs new Monsters for his show…
But the Queens of Fae also want a little deep-fried wizard for the

Oh, and Nate is losing that last finger-hold on his
sanity: hallucinating, and talking to creatures that no one else can
see. The ancient demon inside of him is getting stronger, fighting
for dominance, and only one of them can survive.
But when a wizard curses Nate, extorting him to rescue a lethal Chimera child
from the Beast Master’s Circus, Nate’s only option is to partner
with his inner demon, risking his very soul. But his friends begin to
doubt and fear this new, darker Nate, taking matters into their own
hands – even when that means standing against him.
With allies turned enemies, the Fae breathing down his neck, and a
dangerous child’s life on the line, Nate must call upon, bully, and
coerce new storybook legends and gods to save his traitorous friends
from becoming the Beast Master’s next victims…
Discover what – if anything – Nate is willing to sacrifice to save the
friends who betrayed him…
Shayne is a man of mystery and power, whose power is exceeded only by his
mystery. In other words, a storyteller.
He currently writes the Nate Temple Supernatural Thriller Series, which
features a foul-mouthed young wizard with a chip on his shoulder
attempting to protect St. Louis from the various nasties we all know
and fear from our childhood bedtime stories. Nate’s been known to
suckerpunch an Angel, cow-tip the Minotaur, and steal Death’s horse
in order to prove his point. His utter disregard for consequences and
self-preservation will have you laughing and cringing on the edge of
your seat.
Shayne holds two high-ranking black belts, and enjoys conversing about
anything Marvel, Magical, or Mythological. You might find him writing
in a coffee shop near you, cackling madly into his computer screen
while pounding shots of espresso.
