Blurb From Goodreads:

One jaded woman. Two hot men. A challenge to prove Cupid doesn’t always know best.

After a lifetime of dating losers, Noel Chase thinks she’s found love with college professor Len Holder. But Cupid’s aim sucks worse than his crap-tacular curse, sticking her with supposed soul mate, Grayson Adler. Grayson is gorgeous, Greek, and an exact replica of the man-whores of her past. No matter what the chubby cherub thinks, Noel is sure Grayson is Mr. Wrong with a capital “W.”

Forced to do Cupid’s bidding, Noel must spend her days with Grayson matchmaking the unlucky-in-loves, and trying to resist Grayson’s charm and do-me-now sex appeal. But when Cupid tries to match her fiancé, Len, with another woman, Noel must make an excruciating decision. Defy Cupid and hang on to Len? Or succumb to her fate and trust Grayson with her heart?

My Review:

I liked this story but Noel was a little too stubborn about being paired up with Grayson. Granted it was explained at the end but man, I totally fell for Grayson over and over again as the story continued and could not for the life of me figure out why Noel didn’t. Although his stalker like tendencies were a little disconcerting but it was never creepy and he was willing to do anything for Noel, which of course got me to fall for him. I’m not sure how much to give away but to me, once I finished the book, the story was not about Noel and Grayson, it’s about Cupid. And now you’ll have to read it to find out lol.

Author Bio:

Jenn Windrow loves characters that have a pinch of spunk, a dash of attitude, and a large dollop of sex appeal. Top it all off with a huge heaping helping of snark, and you’ve got the ingredients for the kind of fast paced stories she loves to read and write. Home is a suburb of it’s-so-hot-my-shoes-have-melted-to-the-pavement Phoenix. Where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and a slew of animals that seem to keep following her home, at least that’s what she claims.

Jenn’s Urban Fantasy, EVIL’S UNLIKELY ASSASSIN won the RWA Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal (FF&P), “On The Far Side” writing contest in July 2014, top 5 in the RWA Desert Rose, “Realizing the Dream” writing contest, and finaled in the Houston Writers Guild annual writing contest in April 2014. It was also selected as first runner up in Writers Type’s First Chapter Contest in April 2013.

Her Paranormal Romance, STRUCK BY EROS placed first in the RWA’s Golden Pen Contest, third in the Ruby Slippered Sisterhoods Make it Golden contest, and fourth in the West Coast Romance Writers Beacon contest.

ETERNAL NIGHT, by Jade Kerrion

Ashra’s hand trailed across Jaden’s muscled torso. He made it easy for her to be gentle. His body trembled as if he longed for her. His mouth was hungry for her kiss. He arched up against her, as if craving more. His need was like a living creature, wild and aching for her touch.

Eyes closed, Ashra shivered. Only one other person had desired her as much.

And he was dead.

She forced her way through the memories of pale bodies tangled upon cool silk sheets. When her soul-sucking power leeched out, it found no opposition. Images of the human’s life rewound in a blaze of vivid sights, sounds, and sensations.

Ashra looked up at Tera, her smile little more than a barely perceptible curve of her lips. “He fancies himself the protector of the child of prophecy. Was she among those taken tonight?”

Tera nodded.

Ashra chuckled, the sound without humor. “It’s a pity her genetic heritage wasn’t sufficiently superior to prevent her from being culled.”

“There’s more. Go deep.”

She pushed past the blackness at the start of his memories, expecting deeper darkness. Instead, the colors shifted into shades of ochre and gray. Memories, older than his body, resided in his soul; memories of an Earth long since lost to them—a planet surrounded and nourished by water; images of tall buildings glistening beneath a benevolent sun, and of thriving cities filled with the bustle of humans; memories of quiet and intimate conversations beneath a silver moon, the same silver moon that now graced Malum Turris with its light, though a thousand years older and viewed only from beneath the protection of the dome.

She saw herself as he must have seen her, a much-younger icrathari, still hopeful for the future, never realizing that the Earth they had all known and loved was irretrievably lost. Had she ever looked that vulnerable? Had her smile ever been so beautiful, so filled with love as she looked upon—

“Rohkeus?” Oh, blessed Creator, was that stricken whisper her voice?

Ashra pulled back and stared at the human. Her mouth dropped open. Her heart pounded in her chest, its beat erratic. It couldn’t be. It simply couldn’t be—

She looked up at Tera. The other icrathari nodded.

Rohkeus’s soul reborn…in a human.

Ashra threw her head back and laughed, a despairing sound. Her prince, her love, reduced to a human? Her slender fingers coiled into fists. Her golden eyes glittering, she pushed away from him, though her body trembled from the loss of his warmth. No, the human was not Rohkeus; he could never be Rohkeus.

Steeling herself against the gasp of pain that escaped from his lips as the anesthetizing effect of her kiss faded, Ashra rose to her feet with sinuous grace. “He is not one of us. Not anymore.” Nothing had been more devastating than losing Rohkeus to a human assassin. To see his soul reborn in that contemptible and weak race was an insult to the person Rohkeus had been.

“Should we turn him into a vampire?” Tera asked.

“Kill him. Set Rohkeus’s soul free.”

A Cross to Bear: A Gabriella Cross Paranormal Romance Book 1

All around her, the sounds of baying wolves echoed in the night. Trees slapped her face as she ran, and she tripped more than once. She was crying now and mumbling to herself, terrified. She dared not look back, knowing that the wolves were pursuing her. She came out of the woods into a clearing leading to a tall hill. The howls came from all directions. Shadows flew through the woods in her peripheral vision, and Gabby cried out. She fell again, skinning her knee badly on a jagged rock. In her terrified state, she felt no pain, but continued as fast as she could and ran up the hill.

A snarl came from directly behind her, and she instinctively turned and cried out. A wolf was bearing down on her fast. She turned and raised a hand as the beast leapt at her with gleaming claws leading the way.

“NO!” Gabby cried.

To her amazement, the wolf changed form in mid-flight and turned into a naked man. He landed at her feet on all fours and snarled at her.

“Get away from me!” she screamed.

The naked man backed away from her warily, glancing down at his human hands with a look of confusion and shock. More wolves were coming out of the woods. They stopped when they saw the one who had turned into a human in the light of the full moon.

Gabby wasted no time considering her luck and ran as fast as she could up the hill.

“Gabriella Cross, stop!” Michael’s voice rose up over the howls.

Gabby could hardly see through her tears. She didn’t dare look back, knowing that she would find death closing in on her. She reached the top of the hill and ran across the flat expanse of rocky earth.

“Gabriella!” came the voice again.

The wolves were gaining on her.

She darted between two pines blocking her way, receiving many scrapes on her face and arms. Half blinded by tears and slapping branches, she stumbled out from between the trees and suddenly came to a steep cliff. She tried to stop, but her momentum was too great. With a terrified cry she fell forward over the cliff.

She frantically thrashed her arms as she fell to her death. Above, on the ledge, a mournful wolf cried out. The ground was coming up fast to crush her, and Gabby closed her eyes, not wanting to see her death.

Then. Suddenly. Gabriella was weightless.

Strong arms held her firmly. She opened her eyes to find a winged beast staring back at her.

Gabby passed out.

EXCERPT:

Brandon nuzzled her ear. “It’s just you and me, baby.”

She pushed him away as she tried to think. Oh, God. If only she hadn’t had all those drinks. Her muzzy state made her clumsy and off-kilter. She meant no, but Brandon wasn’t taking no for an answer. Though she’d slapped away his hand, he kept pushing.

He tickled up her side as she tried to squirm away. “Bet I can change your mind…”

God, she was ticklish there. She couldn’t help laughing, even though she was pissed he wouldn’t take her seriously. “Don’t…no, stop it. I mean it, Brandon. Stop…”

A deep voice cut through her weak giggles and Brandon’s whispered teasing. “You got a problem with your hearing? She said stop.”

They both froze. Alyx couldn’t make out the man’s face in the darkness, but she knew the voice.

Cris.

When he stepped into the light, Alyx stiffened even as her chest flooded with relief. Grateful as she was that someone had intervened, why did he have to be that someone?

He gazed at them stony-faced. His eyes zeroed in on Brandon’s hand on her waist. She felt Brandon’s hand tighten, then drop away as he glared back at Cris. “What do you want?”

“I want you to leave her alone.” He nodded at Alyx.

“Why don’t you just mind your own business?”

Cris ignored him, focusing on Alyx. “Do you want this assclown touching you?”

“Hey!” Clenching his fists, Brandon took a step toward Cris.

Alyx spoke quickly. “I just want to go home.” Though pissed off at Brandon, she didn’t want to see him and Cris get into it.

The air quivered with nervous energy as the two guys eyed each other. Brandon’s jaw was set as though he wanted to lay into Cris, and Cris looked as though he’d like nothing better than to bust Brandon in his preppy, pretty-boy face.

Another voice broke the tension. “Everything cool over here?”

A man stepped out of the darkness and stood beside Cris. Alyx recognized him from inside the bar, the guy who’d been sitting with Cris. Tall and broad shouldered, he was the kind of guy you’d want watching your back when trouble came calling.

“Yeah.” Cris’s even tone belied the tenseness in his body. “It’s all good, man.” He glanced at Alyx. “Where’s your car? I’ll drive you home. You’re in no shape to get behind the wheel.” Then he turned to the big guy, his friend. “Rick, can you follow us so I can get a lift back here to my ride?”

She tottered on her three-inch heels while Brandon sneered. “Well, I uh…my car’s not here. I mean, I came with a friend…but she left without me.” God, did she sound pathetic or what?

Brandon’s nasty laughter rang out behind them as his climbed into his car. “Good luck getting home, Alyx.” He gave the door a slam, then peeled out of the lot, gunning the motor as a farewell fuck-you.

Total silence reverberated before Cris spoke again. “You got some real nice friends.”

He didn’t even try to hide his contempt, obviously convinced she was stupid and irresponsible. Maybe he was right.

“Well, um, I could call a cab.” She unsnapped her tiny purse and wanted to cry when all she found was a compact, a tube of lipstick, and a couple of crumpled dollar bills.

Oh, crap. Not even enough to take the bus, if buses ran this late. What to do? Her brain scrabbled frantically to come up with an answer. “I could call my sister to come get me.” Right, ask her for a favor after you ditched her party. But no matter how pissed Morgan might be, she wouldn’t leave Alyx stranded. Nor would she tattle to their parents.

She felt both men’s gazes on her, the big guy’s soft with sympathy, Cris’s hard and judgmental. She felt every bit the spoiled little airhead they imagined her to be.

The big dude spoke up. “Well, I could—”

“No,” Cris said. “I got this, Rick. Come on, Alyx. I’ll take you home.”

Cats Rule! (And Dogs Drool?)

Hi friends. I’m so happy to be here to share a little bit about my new adult romance, No Secrets. My heroine, Alyx, has a lot of growing up to do in the story. She starts out as a rather spoiled young woman who suddenly has to learn to support herself and learn to navigate her attraction to Cris, a sexy paramedic she’s had a long-time crush on.

Cris Garcia appeared in my earlier New Adult romance, No Promises. Someone else who appeared in that book also shows up No Secrets–a very bossy stray cat named Big Boy. I’ve always enjoyed books and movies featuring animals–especially cats–and thought I’d list a few that you might enjoy, too.

Cat’s Eye

A film written by Stephen King, based on his short stories. A stray tabby cat is a featured player in two of the stories in this horror anthology and the hero in the third. He battles an evil gnome in order to save young Drew Barrymore.

Harry and Tonto

This is a road movie featuring a senior citizen and his best friend, a cat. Art Carney plays Harry who has plenty of adventures with his furry orange buddy, Tonto. A funny and touching film.

Stuart Little

This movie is based on the children’s book by E.B White. The main character, Stuart, is a mouse who is adopted by a human family. Snowbell (voiced by Nathan Lane), the white cat who already lives there, resents Stuart and plots to get rid of his rival. (All ends happily, of course.)

Alien

Everyone remembers Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver) as the sole survivor of toothy, drool-dripping alien in the scary sci-fi adventure. But they forget Jonesy, the orange cat who employs sneakiness and smarts to survive and escape along with Sigourney.

Walk on the Wild Side

This is a campy, over the top movie. One of those it’s-so-bad-it’s-good guilty pleasures. Though not in the main story, a stray black cat is featured in the beginning and end title sequences of the film. I think the cat represents the wild and untamed side of the characters. This is one of the well-known works of graphic designer/filmmaker Saul Bass. Here’s a link if you’d like to see it yourself:

http://www.titledesignproject.com/walk-on-the-wild-side-title-sequence-by-saul-bass/

I’m sure there are plenty of films I’ve missed. Can you think of any that you’ve enjoyed?

Author Bio:

N. Raines (who also writes as Nona Raines) is a former librarian who lives in upstate New York with her many pets. She’s currently working on her next novel between walking the dog and shooing the cats off the laptop. Her erotic romances are published with The Wild Rose Press and Loose Id. Her transgender romance His Kind of Woman was nominated for the 2014 DABWAHA sponsored by the Dear Author and Smart Bitches, Trashy Books review blogs. Her most recent work is the romance novella Write to Me and the transgender romance Her Kind of Man.

EXCERPT:

VICTOR

I’d rather not mull over what’s going on right now.

The guys and I’ve been on a seven-day trip—five days in Munich working with a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guru—and now I was just going to mosey on back home. Until this girl appeared out of nowhere, a wild dream in a flurry of white fluff and lace, breezing through security.

Disheveled and beautiful. Fairytale features and yellow hair flowing thick down her back. But what got me were the shoes in her hand. Until I bent and realized her feet were black with crap from the airport floor. She was mad and anxious and flustered. Oh hell, I couldn’t walk away.

Now we’re at another airport, and I still can’t walk away. On the flight here, I prodded more about her life than I’ve done with any girl before. It’s a risk to prod—the more you know, the more interesting they can get.

I guess I am mulling over what’s going on after all. Am I taking these chances because Maiko didn’t come along? Since her angina episode, she’s been avoiding abrupt ambience changes, which in my mother’s mind equals risks.

“The flight has been delayed overnight.” Keyon’s face is dark with annoyance.

“All right, I’m getting a hotel,” I mutter.

“The plane leaves at six in the morning.”

“Well, transit hotel then. I can’t stay in a pub for eight hours.”

Helena trails after me with her giant purse full of jewelry. She’s a freaking vision. “So there’s a hotel in the airport?”

“Yep. With the delays though, chances are everyone else will want a room. Better hurry.” I squint at her. “Are you doing it too?”

She huffs. “What, you think I want to loiter in the transit hall all night? Get drunk with the guys? Oh wait, Zeke will take good care of me. That’s right.”

I chuckle at that.

I was right. The lobby of the only hotel in the transit hall is packed with travelers. I’m sure I’m out of luck once it’s my turn, but the receptionist copies my documents and hands me a keycard. “Here you go, Mister. Enjoy your stay.”

I thank her and exchange a relieved look with Helena. “I’m in three-oh-seven if you want to grab a bite to eat.”

She’s got a pretty mouth. It widens now, in a smile. I grab my backpack, hike it up on a shoulder, and lumber toward the elevator.

“I’m sorry, Ma’am. We have full occupancy tonight,” the same receptionist I spoke with tells Helena.

“No way?” Helena says. “Please, I’ll take anything. I’m not picky.”

The receptionist shakes her head, repeating that she’s sorry.

“Okay,” I break in. “We’re changing this up. She’ll have my room.”

Helena’s grip on the countertop loosens as she turns to me. “Oh no, you don’t.” She returns to the receptionist again, shaking her head. “I don’t want his room.” She tucks her hair behind an ear and bends to her oversized purse on the floor.

I eliminate the distance between us. “Helena. Wait.”

She does, eyes round.

“How many beds are there in three-oh-seven?” I ask the receptionist.

The girl tells me there’s only one but that it’s big. Clearly, she’s onto my idea.

“Can we have some extra sheets and pillows sent up, maybe a few extra towels?” I ask.

“Victor, no…” From Helena’s tone she’s more surprised than against my idea.

“Why not? We’ll watch films. Maybe we’ll find Cinderella,” I say, which makes her laugh.

EXCERPT:

The imp bustled here and there. He watched her without a word, trying not to be annoyed at how non-threatening she found him. No one else he’d ever come up against had turned their back to him. Of course, none of them could disappear into thin air either.

Minutes passed, and a new smell began to fill the air. “Are you making cookies?”

Connell had spent months tracking the imp, and now she was playing Suzy Homemaker, baking cookies. Was this really happening? Everything felt surreal. He watched her bend down to open the oven, half-expecting her to start glowing or sparkling like a cartoon fairy.

“Chocolate chip and walnut,” she replied, setting down a baking sheet.

A dozen large, gooey cookies were on the rectangular sheet. Connell’s stomach rumbled audibly, but he ignored it.

The imp lifted a brow. “Do you want one?”

“No,” he said curtly.

His stomach growled again, and he closed his eyes in irritation. He’d had a huge lunch at a nearby inn, but he was used to four large meals a day, at least half of which he ate communally with the pack.

Connell took a deep breath. “I don’t believe you didn’t do this. Or one of the others like you. If it had been a witch, I’d be dead right now.”

The imp cocked her head and stared at him with that same unnerving calm from before. He shifted, suddenly more warm than angry.

Why did she have to be so damn cute? He didn’t even like Asian girls. He went for tall, busty blondes like Riley.

Don’t waste time thinking about that mess, he reminded himself.

“I don’t think that’s necessarily true,” she said, still studying him. “And I can’t tell what’s wrong with you yet, so I’m not ruling anything out. Witches included. How long have you been this way? Start at the beginning.”

Her tone made it a command. He wanted to shake his head in disbelief. The imp looked like jailbait, and yet she issued orders like a general. She had the innate authority to back it up too. Connell was an alpha, but he wanted to bow down to her. It was unnerving.

“How old are you?” he asked suspiciously.

“How old do I look?”

The answer was so cheeky that he wanted to grab her. But putting his hands on her was a bad idea.

When he didn’t answer, she dropped her shoulders. “Start at the beginning,” she repeated, a trace more gently this time.

Frustrated, he ran his fingers through his hair until it stood on end. Could he trust her? Did he even have a choice?

“If you want me to help, you have to explain what happened to you.”

He stepped to her aggressively, eyes flashing green fire. “I didn’t come all this way to chat, little girl. I came here so you could fix me. Even if you didn’t do it—if an Elemental didn’t strip my wolf away—you can put it back. You have that power. It’s what you’re supposed to do.”

Connell expected her to warily back away. But the imp stood her ground and met his stare. Her eyes were kinder than he expected, filled with sympathy.

He hated it.

“That isn’t what we do. Elementals aren’t healers. We’re soldiers. I can’t fix you, not yet. I don’t even know how this happened. You have to tell me. And it’s Logan, not little girl.”

Connell blinked. “Like the airport?”

Logan scowled at him. And like everything else about her, it was adorable. Shit. He was not attracted to cute.

“Like the Wolverine,” Logan snapped with a ferocious frown on her face.

Still adorable.

Connell flared his nostrils. What the hell was he supposed to do now? There was no trace of a lie in her scent. And despite losing his wolf, he could still tell when others lied to him. Like Riley. And he knew from first-hand experience what a skilled liar she was.

Logan had to be telling the truth. And if she wasn’t, he didn’t have another alternative. The witches his pack contacted after his attack hadn’t known how to help him. The healer his father had found had taken one look and said it was beyond his skill. He had nothing to lose by telling Logan what little he knew.

“I don’t know how it happened. Whatever it was, I was out for most of it,” he said, reaching for the quiche at the end of the counter. It was ham and tomato, conveniently cut into quarters. He inhaled one piece and reached for another.

“Help yourself, why don’t you?” she said in a neutral tone as he bit into the second piece.

“I’ve tracked you through four different countries. I’m hungry,” he growled.

The thick wedge was good. So was the dirty look Logan was giving him. It made him feel alive again.

Author Interview:

  1. How long have you been writing?

I worked full time in a demanding job as a professional engineer and was a single mother. When my son was old enough to play by himself, I finally had two or three hours on the weekend to write. By aiming to write 1,000 words a week, I completed four novels in 18 years, entered Romance Writer of America contests, and studied the craft of writing along the way. The fourth, Diamond Lust, a romantic suspense was published by Ellora’s Cave in 2010 and reissued with a new cover in 2015 as Diamond Hunter.

  1. Where did your love of storytelling come from?

Until I turned 10, my family lived in a remote area of the French-Canadian province of Quebec with no access to English television. I read several books a week and decided I’d be a writer. I’m very glad I became a book addict as a child, because, after we moved and got cable TV, I spent way too many evenings in front of the tube.

  1. What was the hardest part of writing this book?

I drew on my experience at 16 as a chambermaid at a Muskoka summer resort, and the first draft of Caught on Camera just flew off the keyboard into the computer. Then the hard work came in the second draft, rewriting to make the story fast-paced and funnier as I posted each chapter on Wattpad.com. After I received the manuscript back from the story editor and copy editor at different stages, I devoted at least a month to revisions. I describe my lengthy editing and polishing process in these Editing Your Book blog posts.

  1. What inspires you?

Muskoka. Growing up, my sisters and I enjoyed summers at my grandparents’ cottage in the District of Muskoka, Canada’s premiere holiday destination. It’s where wealthy professionals and celebrities own lavish summer homes, intermingled with working class folks like my grandparents who bought waterfront property before prices exploded. We four kids were lucky to have idyllic childhoods, with long, hot days swimming, waterskiing, boating, and reading. In our teens we worked at the resorts (and in two of my sisters’ cases, at the national park campgrounds). The Hollywood in Muskoka series allows me to revisit a beautiful area and a treasured time in my life.

  1. Who inspires you?

Stephanie Bond. I once emailed Stephanie Bond to tell her how much I enjoyed her romantic comedic mysteries. She wrote back to thank me, saying I had made her day. She’s such a humorous, successful writer and her response reminded me that writing can be thankless hard work. We bury ourselves in our writing caves for months with very little validation to assure us that the book-in-progress is any good, and cross our fingers that readers will love the end result. When I have doubts, I think of Stephanie and other gifted authors who reinvented themselves when markets changed and kept tapping at their keyboards, improving with each book. Successful authors are in it for the long game.

  1. What are some day jobs that you have held? If any of them impacted your writing, share an example.

I have a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, and worked for over 30 years in the public service. I began my career in Canada’s vast arctic where I flew thousands of miles in small planes to construction projects in tiny Inuit and native communities. Based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, a subarctic town called the “Diamond Capital of North America”, I hung out with young mining engineers. I drew on those five adventurous, sometimes dangerous years in the far north to write Diamond Hunter, my debut romantic suspense about a young geologist who encounters murderous diamond smugglers at a fly-in-only mine. Diamonds weren’t that girl’s best friend.

  1. What do you like to read in your free time?

I read mysteries, and watch recent movies, series and old favorites, enabled by Netflix and the invention of the PVR. You’ll see that guilty pleasure reflected in all the Caught on Camera movie and TV references!

  1. Do you aim for a set amount of words/pages per day?

When I’m writing, I block out two or three hours and aim to write 1,000 new words. At the next session, I flesh out those pages and write four more. Because I’m a plotter, I rarely have to do major structural rewrites or delete scenes, but I do spend significant time improving each scene. Now that I have a part time job with flexible hours, I aim to publish a book a year. Sex and the Screenwriter, Book 2 in the Hollywood in Muskoka series, will be published in mid-2017.

  1. What is your favorite motivational phrase?

Slow and steady wins the race.

  1. What advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Study the craft of writing. Write the first book, put it aside, and write the next one. You’ll improve with each book. Don’t be in a hurry to indie-publish early efforts. Your books are your legacy, so put in the work to earn four and five star reviews. If you want to try the traditional publishing route, improve your chances of getting a contract by having your book professionally edited before submitting.

Author Bio:

Madelle completed four novels before Ellora’s Cave Publishing Inc. contracted to publish her debut romantic suspense, Diamond Lust—republished as Diamond Hunter—and a sexy, short free read, The Next Big Thing, in 2010.

When Madelle realized her author voice is more suited to light, humorous contemporary romance, she went waaaay back to her teen years for the Hollywood in Muskoka series setting. Madelle, her sisters, and assorted pets enjoyed idyllic summers at a lake in the District of Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, named by National Geographic Traveler magazine as one of their top 20 Best of the World Must-see Places.

The Muskoka lakes’ forested shorelines are dotted with palatial properties owned by wealthy families and Hollywood celebrities. At sixteen, being neither rich nor famous, Madelle worked briefly as a chambermaid at the now-closed Delawana Inn, a local resort.

Madelle is retired from an engineering career in the federal public service and lives in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, with her husband. She tries to keep fit with cycling, Pilates, and yoga, and dreams of owning a waterfront cottage. Or at least a pool.

She tweets and posts on Facebook and Goodreads about Hollywood, filmmaking, Muskoka, and, of course, writing. She blogs the second Tuesday of the month at romancingthegenres.blogspot.com and occasionally on her own website.

But something goes very wrong on the way to the altar. Now it’s up to Lucy, her party-hard, take-no-prisoners Ladies-in-Waiting, and Nick’s opinionated Royal Nana to solve the debacle, and get her back into sexy Prince Nick’s arms in time to be Royally Wed, as well as royally bed.

A modern day, sexy tale with romance, twists and turns, laughter, and a whole lot of hanky-panky!

EXCERPT:

I woke up on the cathedral’s stone floor and glanced around, as wedding guests applauded from their seats in the wooden pews. “Thank you,” I said. “Thank you very much,” and pushed myself to standing. “I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve all this wonderful affirmation, but I sincerely appreciate it.”

Nicholas stood at front of the church and smiled and waved at me. “Lucy!”

“Nick! You’re here. Oh, my God, the whole nightmare about you standing me up at the altar was simply a horrible dream. I should have known better. What’s all the kerfuffle? Why are all these people applauding?”

“They’re celebrating our wedding my love.” He held out his hand to me. “It’s finally time that we get married. But first you have to walk down the aisle. Let’s get the party started, Lucy.”

“Oh my God, Nicholas. That is the most romantic thing I think you’ve ever said to me, especially in front of all these people. Hang on, I’m warming up.” I shook my hands, cracked my neck, and started my crazy great dance moves down the aisle as “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE played in the background.

“Lucy, my darling, I’ve wanted to slip a ring on that important finger since the first time I met you. I imagined what it would be like to be your husband. We’d have sex every morning, twice at night, and even a few times during the middle of the day during national holidays. You’ll never have to count calories ever again. You’ll burn them all off with me!”

“The dream of wedded bliss keeps getting better and better, Nicholas!” I said, busted a few more moves to the song, and waved back at all the folks who were waving to me. Everyone was so friendly at my wedding, and I wondered why I was worried about them being judgmental.

An old duke peppered with liver spots eyed me and snapped his fingers in time with the music. A few teenagers hopped up on the church pews and danced with each other. By the time I glanced back at the altar, Nick was eating from a huge wedding cake with his hands, frosting dripping from his fingers. “It’s so yum, Lucy! Hurry up! Pick up the pace! We must wed now!”

“Yes, Nicholas,” I said, and jogged toward him. “I can’t wait to marry you! This whole thing is so exciting it almost makes me want to take my clothes off and run through a sprinkler with you and my dog, Tulip! She’s a yellow lab and you know how those dogs love the water.”

“We can do that after we get married, Lucy,” he said, and licked frosting suggestively from his fingers. “I love you!”

“I love you back,” I said, and jogged even faster.

“But you won’t have to take your clothes off, Lucy. You’re already breathtakingly beautiful in your naked form.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about Nicholas.”

“You’re in the buff, my love,” he said. “Why do you think the crowds are applauding so enthusiastically?”

I tripped over a photographer, sent him flying, and looked down in horror. I no longer wore a beautiful flowing vintage silk batiste wedding gown, but a size fourteen suit of bare lady skin. I was jogging down the aisle of the Royal Fredonia Cathedral one hundred percent naked.

“Ms. Trabbicio! Ms. Trabbicio!”

I turned and stared at the photographer I’d just drop kicked down the aisle. He was hunched in a ball on the ground but still managed to hold his enormous camera and aim it straight at me. “I need to take your picture for our magazine,” he said.

I turned and mooned him. “Then you’d better get a picture of my good side.”

Excerpt:

As she slid past her throne, Ryleigh’s sword caught on the arm, and she took a step back and untangled it. She’d never get used to wearing the stupid thing everywhere she went. If not for Jackson’s insistence, it’d probably be stuffed under her bed beside the baseball bat she kept hidden there.

She pulled open a drawer on the side table behind her throne and rifled through the papers she’d stuffed in there in search of her leather appointment book. If she couldn’t find answers, may as well get some work done. It was either that or dwell on Jackson’s mission and the terror it brought. She pressed a hand against her heaving stomach. No. She couldn’t think about that. She had more immediate problems she might actually be able to do something about.

Several meetings had to be scheduled, and without writing them down, she’d never keep track of where she was supposed to be. Especially with her mind so jumbled with images of Jackson going up against Chayce.

She snatched the book, shoved the drawers shut, and turned to leave.

Ryleigh’s vision blurred. The air shimmered in the center of the throne room, and her ears popped.

She ripped her sword from its sheath even as the portal opened.

A seven-foot-tall beast built of solid muscle tore through the portal. A triple headed flail swung from one massive hand.
