Blurb From Goodreads:

In the follow-up to Risking It All, hailed by Lauren Layne as “the perfect escapist read,” the heartthrobs of the Naked Men blog and podcast get a little too real about friendship, love, and sex. For one wealthy bachelor, the trouble starts when all three collide. . . .

After narrowly surviving a bus crash in high school with his best friends, science geek Knox Davis resolved to become so successful that he could have anything and everything he wants. Now he’s über-wealthy, a huge business success, and a notorious ladies’ man. Knox refuses to limit himself to one woman, but when his latest conquest—a blond beauty from the Alaskan bush—challenges his superficial ways, Knox begins to see the world through her eyes, and finds he likes what he sees.

A nurturer at heart, Madison Abbott wants to put down roots. She left Alaska to meet Mr. Right—and to track down Logan, the half-brother she’s never met. Instead, she finds Knox. Although the sexy-as-sin bachelor may not seem like marriage material, Madison’s starting to think that Knox is The One. But Knox refuses to settle down, especially once he learns that Madison is his best friend’s little sister. Now it’s up to her to convince Knox that she’s everything he really wants.

My Review:

I absolutely LOVED Madison, she could care less about Knox’s money, she wanted to know the man, which is exactly how I feel. Money means nothing if you don’t have someone special to enjoy it with. And talk about steamy, I think my glasses fogged up a few times. The fact that they were kissing minutes after meeting each other had me wondering at first, but the grab each experience by the balls attitude that both the characters had eased my worry. And I couldn’t stop laughing during that first kiss scene when a dog started humping Knox’s leg. His response to the owner of said dog when she pointed out that “There’s a hotel right behind you”, “Sorry, I’m not available to keep your dog entertained. I’ve already got my hands full.”, had me laughing out loud for a good five minutes. I could picture it perfectly in my head as the woman got all huffy and stormed off, dragging her dog with her lol. I am loving this series and can’t wait to read the next one!

The Sin Trilogy by Georgia Cates #Review @inkslingerPR @georgiacates

I’ve watched him from afar for years. And he has no idea. I take joy in that.

Through my observations, I’ve learned what makes this charming villain tick.

Beautiful women.

And Sex. Lots of it.

Sometimes you must get into bed with the enemy for the greater good. And that’s what I’ll do; it’s all part of making Sinclair Breckenridge fall in love with me so I can penetrate his inner circle.

There’s hell to pay.

I’m a dark horse. The perfect storm.

I am Bleu MacAllister. And I’m coming for him.
AMAZON      Barnes & Noble    iBooks

Bleu MacAllister’s POV:

“You better be worth all this work and waiting.” He nips my bottom lip and gives my ass another painful squeeze before turning to walk to his car.

Anticipation—it builds excitement and suspense. The brain really is a sexual organ, even for men. Sin is going to spend the next five days and nights fantasizing about what it’ll be like when he finally has me beneath him. Waiting is something he’s never had to do so this is another way of setting me apart from the others before me. It proves I’m worth the wait and far more than just fuckworthy.
I’ve watched her from afar for weeks. And she has no idea.

Bleu MacAllister ran from me three months ago. She thought she could disappear from my life. My beloved believed I’d let her go.

Bleu says I won’t find her; she changes like a chameleon. Wrong, again. Some things remain unaltered. She’s still beautiful. Sexy as hell. And I want her more than my next breath.

The circumstances bringing us together have changed. It’s a precarious situation because my bonny lass is a hunted traitor. But I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

She will be my wife.

I am Sinclair Breckenridge. And I’m coming for her.

Sinclair’s POV
I’m in the background of Bleu’s life, as I have been for weeks. I have eyes on her at all times, even when they’re not my own. I safeguard her from harm. It’s all I’ve done since tracking my lass down in a small town in Mississippi, right outside of Memphis. I act as her protector from afar and she has no idea. She believes she’s hidden from The Fellowship—and me—but she couldn’t be more wrong. I’m always here, keeping a watchful eye on her and the MacAllister family.
I often need to be reminded that this is Bleu’s world. Every person she has contact with isn’t a threat but there’s an enormous problem with that. I have no idea who’s friend or foe.
I was concerned when Bleu disappeared at the bar with a man earlier tonight. I was on the verge of barging into the back until my lass came out on stage to perform with the band. I don’t think I’ve ever been so surprised in all my life. I knew she played but I never pegged her for a public performer. That doesn’t seem like my Bonny at all.
But I guess I don’t really know the real Bleu MacAllister. I only know the woman she pretended to be.

Sinclair Breckenridge is my husband. We’re up and coming leaders to The Fellowship and parents to be. But my new life doesn’t come easily. Not when long buried secrets––and far more than I bargained for––finally reveal my mother’s killer.

Sin vows to do anything to keep our little ones and me safe, even if his promise means denying me of the one thing I want most in this world. He doesn’t understand it’s the death of my dream. And that’s a problem.

I could not stop reading. I quickly moved through this series. It was a spectacular read. Each book had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I completely adored these characters. Sin and Bleu slayed me. Definitely would recommend this series to another. My goodness this set of books was good and I’m so happy I signed up to read them. Well done, Ms. Cates!

Rapturous #ReleaseDay: Her Name Was Sam by Erin Lee

Her Name Was SamHer Name Was Sam

Erin Lee

Genre: YA Lit

*This book is a novella*

Regret Comes in Every Color of the Rainbow

“I stand in a sea of color. It’s so bright, so real, that I feel like I could almost reach out and taste it. I imagine it tastes like summer’s fat watermelon slices. My mouth is dry. Even if I could, I wouldn’t take a bite. I have too much guilt. I know the truth: The only reason I’m standing here is because I helped to kill my daughter.
— Sam’s mother

“I tried so hard to accept her. I wanted to be proud of her, as my sister. But it wasn’t so easy. The kids at school made fun of me. I mean, who wants to be the little sister of a freak like Sam? Now, I wish I could take it all back. I’d give anything to have her back again. I miss her.”
— Sam’s sister

Her Name Was Sam is the novella story of Kelly and Morgan, the mother and sister of Sam Harris, in the aftermath of Sam’s suicide. Bullied for being brave enough to show her true colors to the world, Sam has been gone exactly one year and Kelly and Morgan are left to tackle the grief that comes with regret in her absence. Can acceptance be the answer to their pain? It is, after all, the only thing Sam ever wanted…

This novella deals with dark topics like teen suicide, bullying, and hate crimes. It is not recommended for younger readers who aren’t ready to tackle these topics. It is intended as a tool to promote discussion and bring awareness to some very real issues in the LGBTQ community. It was written to make people think and help them to avoid regrets. Young adult readers, if you aren’t sure if this book is for you, please check with a trusted adult before reading further. Parental discretion is advised.

A Different Christmas

Two people. Two upbringings. One Christmas.

Sam was brought up to her happy family gathering at Christmas. Filled with many traditions that as an adult she thought were normal for everyone.

Getting ready to finish work for the holidays to go home to her family in Scotland, was her idea of fun and relaxation. Well, that was until her boss, Luke, told her he was dragging her to New York for work.
Much to Sam’s irritation, she has to go along and attend New York before flying home on Christmas Eve.

Luke grew up with parents that had a multimillionaire company and wanted for nothing. Apart from a family to celebrate Christmas with.

Luke grew up thinking he had what everyone had at Christmas, until he grew up and realized that Christmas is a family occasion.

Two characters that clash at the slightest thing is a recipe for disaster. Throw Sam and Luke into New York and it is either a make or break for their working relationship.

Would Christmas be different after this year?

My Review:

I really enjoyed this story, so many twists and turns with a doozy at the end. The relationship between Vikka and Zan is weird, they haven’t said anything about love really but they seem to be really close for not knowing each other at all. Other than that little piece of confusion I loved the characters, especially Wink. He’s with the revolution but isn’t, he actually cares about humanity. Whereas with everyone else, it seems that power and control is the desire. Granted the Drones, aka the working class poor, are just trying to eat and survive, so there’s not a lot of compassion there either. Yes, there are some that care, like Zan, but when you have no power it’s hard to make change happen. I will definitely have to read the next book, this one ends with a crazy “WHAT??!!” that I just have to learn about, yet explains so much lol.

“[Jackson Dean Chase is] a fresh and powerful new voice.”
—Terry Trueman, Printz Honor author of Stuck in Neutral

I’m an author and poet who specializes in bringing you “Bold Visions of Dark Places.” I’ve always loved science fiction, fantasy, and horror, but it wasn’t until I combined them with pulp thrillers and noir that I found my voice as an author. I want to leave my readers breathless, want them to feel the desperate longing, the hope and fear my heroes experience as they struggle not just to survive, but to become something more.

YA lets me connect with my younger self, that lonely high school kid with his whole future in front of him but too much emotional pain to know what to do with it. It’s a chance to heal, and a chance to help others. It’s also a chance to have fun and tell the kind of stories that appeal to teens and the adult crossover audience.

For me, it doesn’t matter if you’re 16 or 66. When you pick up a Young Adult book with my name on it, it’s going to deliver.

And authors and reviewers agree:

“Mr. Chase is an equal opportunity entertainer with a wry sense of humor. He speaks to his teenage audience, but leaves room for the older crowd, too.”
–Frank Fronash, author of Night of the Six-Gun Gorilla

“Jackson’s books [are] fun for all ages. From poems that make you shiver to stories you wish did not end, Jackson will have you turning pages and wanting to read more.”
–Kindle reviewer

“[Jackson Dean Chase] perfectly captures the feelings of being that angst-ridden, awkward teen girl. I know because I was that girl.”–Fang Freakin’ Tastic Reviews

“Jackson Dean Chase has found a place on my shelf, the dark corner, where I hide my twisted little secrets.”
–Tome Tender

“…One of the best horror writers out there. He grabs you, holds your attention and then scares you to death.”
–Kindle reviewer

“…He really has a way with words that leaves me in awe of his understanding of the female psyche.”
–Fang Freakin’ Tastic Reviews

“[Jackson Dean Chase] isn’t sticking with the cookie cutter concept. [He’s] taking [his fiction] a little further… I love it!”
–Kevin Hale, host of InHale ExHale on Live Paranormal Radio

Everyone else in Dixie Carmichael’s life has made falling in love look easy, and now she is ready for her own chance at some of that happily ever after. Which means she’s done pining for the moody, silent former soldier who works with her at the bar that’s become her home away from home. Nope. It was supposed to be simple, uneventful, but nothing could have prepared him for the bubbly, bouncy redhead with doe eyes and endless curves. Now he knows it’s time to get out of Denver, fast. The Fighter and the Baroness
Sunniva Dee
Publication date: November 29th 2016
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Victor Arquette knows the meaning of sacrifice. Destined to legendary status in mixed martial arts, his life is founded on it. Dedication equals sacrifice, and sacrifice means around-the-clock training, no partying, no junk food, no alcohol—and no women.

Helena von Isenlohe is the heiress to Kyria Castle. Due to her father’s lack of financial prowess, the restoration of the ancient German estate rests on Helena’s shoulders. A failed attempt leaves a wealthy man alone at the altar—and the fleeing bride on a plane to the United States.

A chance meeting, and Victor and Helena’s chemistry is undeniable. Except, her presence clutters his focus. Victor shouldn’t crave their nights, shouldn’t be concerned where she is or with whom. And meanwhile in Germany, Kyria Castle deteriorates at a suspicious speed, indebting Helena further to the man she left behind.

Victor and Helena believe in duty. They embrace sacrifice. But when love strikes, it strikes hard, and sometimes you have to choose where your heart is truly at home.

Helena enters the room like she expects someone to jump out from dark corner. Neck stretched, she takes in a high quality yet typical hotel room with a king-sized bed and two nightstands. The TV is big and flat, resting on top of a dresser, and then there’s a mirror over a small office desk with a phone and some restaurant flyers on it.

“It’s nice,” she says. “I like that it doesn’t smell like smoke.”

“That would be terrible. Is that what you’re used to? Smoking rooms?”

“We have a cigar room,” she replies, confused, until she breaks in an apologetic laugh. “Oh, as in smoking versus nonsmoking hotel room. I get it.”

“You have a cigar room? Would that be right next to the swan pond?” I tease. It’s cute to see embarrassment flush her cheeks. “Hey,” I continue, mock-petting her cheek, “don’t feel self-conscious about living in a castle. Even though it’s, let’s just say, a hair’s breadth over the top for us commoners.”

“Don’t I know it,” she says. “So which side of the bed is mine?”

I consider, rubbing the light scruff that’s grown on my chin since yesterday. “Well, since you just touched the left corner, it now has cooties. You’ll have to sleep on the cooty-side.”

This girl, she’s been so immediate in her responses. I guess I expected a laugh or some expressed annoyance at my silly comment. Instead, she sinks down against the pillows on her side of the bed and breathes, “Okay,” with the smallest smile raising the corners of her lips.

She uses the arc of one foot to slide her shoe off before she skips off the other. I watch as she wiggles her toes graciously, green nail polish gleaming in the dim shine from the bedside lamp.

Helena is tired. I guess it’s been a long day, the flight being just a small part of her exhaustion. I’m drawn to her eyes, not for the first time. The color of them is almost watery. No, they are watery.

“Who gave you that color?” I blurt out.

“Your eyes. It’s like they’re made of water.”

I’m not the impulsive kind, and yet I’ve already committed strange acts around this girl. Where I come from, women expect smart, premeditated interactions, never initiated by questions like the one I just shot at Helena. This they’d ignore. They’d change the subject into something not insane, or they’d titter and squirm, not knowing how to respond.

She lets her eyes float from her feet to my eyes before they still. “My father. I’ve got his eyes.” She laughs softly, hands around the remote for the TV. “Grandma used to say our eyes were the color of the swan pond because we were both born in rooms with windows overlooking it.”

Author Bio:

Between studies, teaching, and advising, Sunniva has spent her entire adult life in a college environment. Most of her novels are new adult romance geared toward smart, passionate readers with a love for eclectic language and engaging their brain as well as their heart while reading.

Born in the Land of the Midnight Sun, the author spent her early twenties making the world her playground. Southern Europe: Spain, Italy, Greece–Argentina: Buenos Aires, in particular. The United States finally kept her interest, and after half a decade in Los Angeles, she now lounges in the beautiful city of Savannah.

Sometimes, Sunniva writes with a paranormal twist (Shattering Halos, Stargazer, and Cat Love). At other times, it’s contemporary (Pandora Wild Child, Leon’s Way, Adrenaline Crush, Walking Heartbreak, and Dodging Trains, coming in late March 2016).

This author is the happiest when her characters let their emotions run off with them, shaping her stories in ways she never foresaw. She loves bad-boys and good-boys run amok, and like in real life, her goal is to keep the reader on her toes until the end of each story.
